|Thomas Newby||Jack Elliott|
My dad Max Newby was from Ridge Farm. Dad and Jack met when both were taking the train to Chicago for Army induction. They went through basic training together but were split up in California. Dad served in the 11th Airborne in the Philippines and the occupation of Japan. I believe their mothers also became friends. Dad died 12/1/2016 at the age of 91. I spoke of their friendship at his funeral.

Jacob Adams is my gggrandfather.
My maternal grandmother is Madeline C. Adams Nelson, daughter of David Adams. David Adams is the son of Jacob Adams.
I noticed that you have posted individual photos of Jacob and his wife Jane along with Snoden and his family that are from a larger photograph. Would it be possible to get a copy of the group photo?
My brother and I made a trip to the Thomas Cemetary in May when we went to visit our 87 year-old mother who lives in Danville, Illinois who still remembers "Uncle Snoden".
We could not find the grave of my grandmother's sister, Bonnie Adams, daughter of David Adams, granddaughter of Jacob Adams. I believe she does not have a gravestone. I would like to find the location of her grave with the possibility of obtaining a gravestone for her.
I appreciate any help you could give me in getting a copy of the group photo and finding the location of the grave for Bonnie Adams.
|Randall Svihla||Gosberry Elliott|
We exchanged e-mails back in 2009 about Gosberry Elliott. I tried to send you a photo of him and his wife Susannah and their sons Enos and George recently but haven't received a response. Maybe your e-mail has changed.
Please contact me.

I am working with a family member of Jacob Adams. We would very much like a larger copy of his photograph which you posted. Is there a chance that you could post it here or send one to him? Are all of the Adams family photographs from one large family photograph? How do you fit into the family. He descends through David and then Forrest. Thank you for your work.

Thanks-- I have an Ancestry account too. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you find anything.

In the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index I found
MARTIN, HENRY BREWER, MARY 1851-02-23 A 169 VERMILION
Is this perhaps a first marriage (secret, annulled?) of your gggrandfather? I'm looking for the father of Mary Brewer's son, Thomas Benton Martin--West Virginia, Maryland roots. Any help is appreciated.
|Jeanne Thomson||RE: Your Sponsorship and Link|
You are most welcome! You probably know, if a page is sponsored you can add all the photos you wish :0) Otherwise, I think the limit is 4 or 5.
What a remarkable family the Morgans are...
My Grandma was a Morgan & also a real Christian. Her Church was a small one; so when we came home (Oklahoma) on military leave, we were part of their congregation. Wonderful support group for my Gram & any of us who attended with her.
I am still just a "Protestant", but a better person because of her.
Do you know about the Morgan Newsletter & Reunion in Morgantown, WVa? I'll try to forward it to you for a look-see :0)
A pleasure to meet & collaborate with you on FindaGrave. Your Cousin, Jeanne
|MTB||Henry Martin's wife|
I noted you posted a pic of Henry martin. I am very very distantly related by marriage to his wife Eliza # 77559479. I have seen several pictures of her grave stone (the other side of Henry's but no one has posted her marker on find a grave. I could copy one that I have seen on Ancestry but hesitate to use someone else s photo. If it is yours would you post it.

|Randall Svihla||Gosberry Elliott's grave|
In case you don't know, Gosberry and Susannah Elliott are buried near Elias Elliott in Yankee Point Cemetery, but their gravestone disappeared years ago. It was there when I first visited the cemetery in 1972. It was a red sandstone tree trunk, but the inscription had weathered away. The base is still there flush with the ground, in the row with Gosberry and Susannah's children. I was there on Thanksgiving Day, 2008. My great-grandfather was George William Elliott, 1853-1926, Elias' brother. I don't know much about Elias' family, so I'd like to hear from you.

Wonderful! I just transferred him to you. Your uncle sounds like a very brave and special man.
Best wishes to you and your mom this Memorial Day!
