I'm not sure why you can't delete it, but since I transferred it to you, I am not able to delete either. Contact F.A.G. admin to delete.

RE: William Watson
About the name 'Catherine': Louisa Watson House's mother, Margaret Buie Watson, was the daughter of William Buie (b. 1770 Scotland?) and Margaret McIver, died Moore County (name changed from Cumberland), NC. That William Buie was the son of Archibald "Mud Swamp" Buie (b. Ardfin, Jura, Scotland 1743 - d. Cumberland County, NC 1811) and Catherine Shaw Buie (b. Scotland 1745 - d. Cumberland County, NC 1790).

Incidentally, Margaret Buie Watson was a cousin of the legendary Jim Bowie: William Buie, a NC legislator, was among the youngest of ten children, and two of his siblings were John Buie and Mariam Buie; John was presumably Jim Bowie's father. He, John, would have been of an age to have served in the Revolutionary War, which might have taken him, eventually, to Kentucky - fitting what is known of Jim Bowie's father's history. Also, it is known that Jim Bowie had an aunt named Mariam. (History of Texas: Biographies of Milam, Burleson and Williamson Counties, first published 1893 - parts can be seen online).

RE: William Watson
Thanks for your message. I see what you mean, and I can't answer your question. Probably I have no data that you don't have regarding William B. Watson's children. Be that as it may, I believe that Louise Maxwell sent me the names of their daughters, among whom was listed Louisa: William B. Watson (1816 - ?) m. M. Buie (1812-1849) - daughters Mary Jane (m. Ellis 1860), Mary Virginia (d. 1906), Sarah Ann (m. McCauley), and Louisa (m. S. House). One would want to think that since three had two Christian names, the fourth would have had two Christian names as well.
