Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have a historical interest in the subject matter of this site and I do enjoy visiting and paying my respects to various cemeteries around the country and visiting the graves of famous historical figures.

When photographing stones and memorials I always attempt to get enough detail so genealogist and family members can read the inscription while capturing enough of the surrounding area so people can get an idea of the setting. The intent is to create a pleasant experience for anyone visiting family or an old friend.

Swifts in Eaton County, Emmet County Michigan
Hi
I have been researching the Swift's family for awhile.
My Great Great Grandmother is Amanda "Roberts" Swift and Great Great Grandfather Clinton Swift. Which I believe is your direct line also.
I have added a memorial for Algernon and his wife Eliza "Shutterley" Swift and added information that I could find.
You mentioned on Genealogy Bug page about someone having 12 children, I was not clear on whom.
You are more than welcome to maintain Algernon and his Eliza memorial's, if you like and their child Essie..
My line is thu Izadora Swift married to Radle David Radle.
Thank You
Fraya Bushong Weiss

RE: George Lynn Weldy

Patrick,

Thank you, your kindness is appreciated.

I took just a quick look, and spotted one needing the () removed from maiden name, so I've sent you a quick edit.

I saw others, by death dates I may be able to find an obit or more info to add.

Research for obits from newspapers can be time consuming, but when something is found very rewarding.

Many times someone will send updates, and in the research to verify the update, I end up adding even more info to it, and to other memorials also, making links and etc.

I will admit, some times the S.A.C. & quick edits may come in so fast I may get behind. ;-(

One problem, nice as the quick edits are, there isn't a place for even a brief comment to explain the data, or cite the source.

Unfortunately, we all make mistakes, so we shouldn't just accept that everything we receive is correct.

I've been doing genealogy since 1980, long before computers and have done research on many families, and not just my own, either. Unfortunately, I'm not very experienced with research outside the U.S.A.

After computers and the internet, I was on other genealogy sites answering queries before I found and finally registered on Find A Grave. Those sites seem to be less active, since so many have found and registered on Find A Grave.

I just wish I could remember all that research more clearly. ;-)

I'm not a paid subscriber to Ancestry, so that research site is not available to me.

The tri-state area of KS, MO, & OK, around Galena, Cherokee Co. KS, where I was born and raised, is probably where the majority of my memorials are from.

My computer allows me to go almost anywhere.

I am happy to accept memorials anyone wants to transfer from their own management to me.

I do the best I can to take good cared of them, and because another member has trusted me enough to transfer their memorials to me, they are very much appreciated.

Thank you again,

Orlena Marie Jenkins Bryant

RE: George Lynn Weldy

Patrick,

Thank you for transferring George unasked.

I'm not, as far as I know, related, but I will try to manage his memorial as though he were one of my own.

Every memorial I manage belonged to someone, and I try to manage them as though they now belong to me.

I make updates as I find information or receive information from other members.

Thank you again,

Orlena

May I have permission to use your grave photos in my private family tree? I am happy to give you photo credit if you'd like.
