Bio and Links
Hello everyone. I am Betty Flynn. I live in Winona, MS. My husband is Mike and we live with numerous cats and dogs that we have adopted over the years and we love them like they are our children. I was raised in the hills of Carroll County. My parents were the late James W Mullen and Corro Lee Alderson Mullen of McCarley. I was the 8th of 9 children. Growing up in such a large family never had any dull moments. My mother was diagnosed with MS when she was 40 and although she had every reason to focus on her own self she never did. She was always concerned about others. We didn't have much but we didn't know it. Our house was filled with love for each other. Mama always made sure of it.
I have 3 children. My oldest son is Shane, who is married to Kendra. They have one daughter, Rachel who is 3. They live in Brandon, MS. We just found out that Shane was diagnosed with MS. It was a shock to us all and we are still learning how to deal with this but Shane's attitude and his determination to master this has inspired us all. He works at the Baptist where he has access to the latest technology in the treatment of MS, which is a blessing in itself.
We have a dughter, Paige Holland, who is married to Charley and they have a son, Noah, who is 1. They live in Ponotoc.
We also have another son, Justin, who is married to Lindsey Parker and they live in Vaiden.
We are a close knit family who tries to get together as often as we can. We love to cook and we love to eat so we find every reason we can to get together to do just that. Another legacy my mother left behind.

Hello. I am Charlotte Ann (Deery) Whitenton's daughter, Carrie Gonzalez. My mother has spoken of you often. I am creating our family tree and am looking for information and photos of the Mullen family. I would appreciate any help that you could provide. Thank you.

Dear Betty Lane,
Thank you so much for the wonderful message you left for Bill and I. Carol has been just so good to check on us everyday and I am not surprised that she would keep you filled in on Teresa's progress. You are like family and I remember how good you were to her when Tommy Joe died. Also all of your adventures with all the stray dogs and cats you rescue! This seems to get harder with each new day. I think for 5 months we had a purpose in life and that was to take care of Teresa and now I just feel lost. I know God is with us all and we will make it through this, but we miss her so much. Abby and Zach are taking losing their mother very hard. Abby is back in college finishimg her last 6 months and will graduate in Dec. and is so sad that her Mother did'nt make it long enough to see it. Zach is with his Dad for now, but needs to be back in school to get his GED, but he can't stand to be in the house in Oxford where his Mother died. Please pray for them!

God Bless You Always, Martha

Hi, Betty,
I can't wait to meet your cat Woody. I bet he and Akhee are at Rainbow Bridge right now...

A woman told me once that Akhee must have an ancestor who was an Ocelot cat; because of the unusual markings on his fur. I never thought about that before, but maybe it's true. I guess he and Woody could be related...

Have a great day,

Thanks, My Buddy!!
Betty Lane, thanks for the really sweet note you've left Tommy for Father's Day!! All these years, you've gotten me to write things for you and, now, I see you've got a real talent for expressing yourself! You and Martha Lowe are both very creative and talented writers! Thanks, again, for Tommy's nice note ~

You're welcome!
Betty Lane, you don't have to thank me. The Mullens were and are my friends, especially your mother...and Freddy. He was a real son and still is. I'll always think of him as part of the Bennett family. You're all part of my family.
I love you all.
God bless...Bea.
