About 30 years ago, after a move from the west/mid west to the Philadelphia area, I was asked to try and find some info on a Prough Revolutionary ancestor. Not having ties to the area and friends over 2000 miles away I needed something to fill my days while the family was away at school and work. So I took it on and changed my life forever.

Became facinated with the old tombstones and the history you could find on them. And became aware of how much that info can help someone and that a lot of people just cannot make it to each and every cemetery of their ancestors themselves.

My genealogy friend and cousin Brian Smead introduced me to Find A Grave and I hope to help some one a little in return for all the help I have received through the years.

I realize you do not live in the area.
I have been there before and recently. I have researched at the City Hall Cemetery Records, County Courthouse and the library Geneology Department in Girard. All I am asking is that you look at the Memorial and see the correct stone that I added and remove the one you GUESSED was his.

Mary Ann Sale grave photo (FAG # 8917055)
Yvonne,
Thanks so much for the picture in the Union Center Cemetery at Girard of my ancestor, Mary Ann Sale. I do have a request - may I have permission to use your picture on my Ancestry page for her profile pic? Also, can you possibly send me a jpeg of the picture? I want to try to "clean it up" and figure out what the inscription says? When these old stones fade away, so does the beautiful words that were inscribed on their stones by family to remember them. So sad that most of the newer stones do not even have an inscription.
Thanks for all you do! I will pay it forward by helping take pictures in my area in the hope of helping others with their ancestors' last resting places.

I really do appreciate your taking your time to take pictures and preserve our family history.
I had questions and went to Crawford County last week and spent a lot of time with the City, County and Library. Please review AB Hursong "Uncle Andrew" and his brother-in-laws memroials and I believe you will understand my request. At a family reunion in the mid 1900's a visiting family told us Connor's stone had been broken off. Sadly no one could go take care of it. Now 65 or 70 years laster I believe the damage worn stone that is on Uncle Andrews grave should be on Grandpa Connor Been's memorial (157915094).
I appreciate your looking at this.

Could you please say which Pleasant Hill Cemetery they are buried in? I think it is Old Pleasant Hill, but would like your verification. Thank you.

Yvonne, thank you very much for the information. I was out of the country for 2 weeks and thus was not timely in answering you. I really appreciate this.

Could you please check the burial location in Pleasant Hill vs Old Pleasant Hill, so duplicates can be eliminated. Thank you.
