♥Blessed Are The Animals♥

My memorials give me somewhere to bring my grief, and to express my wish to honor those who have gone.
I no longer live near any of 'my' cemeteries and Find a Grave is a place where I can come and be just a grieving mother or daughter, and others always understand me. My heart will always have a Rhysa shaped hole in it, which nothing can ever fill.
If you have lost someone precious to you, I ask God's courage and comfort for you, this is my prayer.

ღThank Youღ from my heart to each dear soul who has visited and left flowers and kind thoughts for my daughter,
Rhysa D Overton (Sep & Feb) -
my mother Thelma Norean Sides Benton (Dec & May) and others in my family.

i thank you God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes

“Forgotten? No, we never do forget:
We let the years go; wash them clean with tears,
Leave them to bleach out in the open day,
Or lock them careful by, like dead friends' clothes,
Till we shall dare unfold them with less pain,—
But we forget not, never can forget.”

I need to say that even tho permitted by FaG rules to claim priority rights to the memorial, when you have burial location info not on the memorial the kinder thing would be to inform the owner of the grave location. Chances are it means a lot to the owner. I have had many memorials taken from me without a word of notice because I could not find out the cemetery. We each are in need of a kind gesture to get us thru the day and I will happily do the same for you.

Are you a friend or relative of someone listed in my memorials?
Many of my memorials are related in some way to me, but many are not. All my memorials, however, are made with very great personal respect and the most loving intentions, the goal ALWAYS being to honor the memory of some dear person.
I will consider every request for transfer.

If you'd like me to remove or modify a memorial I have made for your family member I will happily do so.
If you should wish a photo removed that I have added, please just leave me a note and it will be promptly and cheerfully (✿◠‿◠) deleted.

***☺ If I can help with aged or damaged photo(s) of yours, anything I can do is freely offered. Just post it on any memorial of yours and tell me where to find it. I download a copy and the original is of course untouched.

"Earth's fairest flowers grow not on sunny plain,
But where some vast upheaval rent in twain
The smiling land . . . .
After the whirlwinds devastating blast, after the molten fire and ashen pall, God's still small voice breathes healing over all.
From riven rocks and fern-clad chasms deep, flow living waters as from hearts that weep.
There in the afterglow soft dews distill and angels tend God's plants when night falls still,
Angels passing by that way
Will gather lilies at the break of day."

IN MY FAERIE GARDEN
"Just living is not enough" said the butterfly fairy, "one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."
-Hans Christian Anderson-

My husband and I are rattie and ferret people and have for years adopted from the local rescues and shelters.
The ones we bring home are otherwise not likely to be adopted due to age and/or medical issues.
We give and get tons and tons of love :). Ferrets are soft and cuddly and affectionate and just awesome, playful little love bugs.
Over the years there have been 43 ferrets (plus others...dogs, cats, ratties, mousies, birdies, fishies, gerbils and degus) in our family circle, each one a beautiful little spirit.
Our lives have been and are enriched beyond all measure by the presence of our fuzzies.
Each furbaby brings something unique and special to our family, and we are so thankful for the privilege. You will find our rainbow babies listed in My Faerie Garden virtual cemetery.
I am a long time vegan, and all God's creatures are near to my heart.

*A wonderful quote shared with me by PURPLE~LADY, it's so True:
"Love is more than words, it is demonstrated thru actions. Love is manifested in the day-to-day occurrences of small kindnesses & spoken words. Love is lending a patient ear and taking time to care." ~Anonymous~

Sarah Amanda Webb Gilliland
The Magnolia Cemetery has no record of Sarah being buried there. Considering she died in DeKalb County, it is most likely she is buried there. Please consider modifying her burial to show 'body lost or destroyed'.

Hiram Jackson Gilliland, #85703851
I descend from Hiram's brother, James Alexander Gilliland,
who is my maternal 3G grandfather.

I am interested to know your source(s) for Hiram's first name as John as all the records I have seen only give him as either H. J. or Hiram Jackson Gilliland.

Some researchers show his father was John H. Gilliland,
and some specifically as John Hiram Gilliland, but I have never seen any original sources for a middle initial or name for him.

Reportedly, John's middle initial was given as H. in one single deed, but I have not seen the original and I know that often cursive H. and A's are transcribed in error. Even still, there seems nothing to indicate his middle name was Hiram specifically. As he had 2 other sons with H. names; Harvey Franklin Gilliland and Daniel Harris P. Gilliland, even if his middle initial were H., it could just as easily stand for one of those other H. names, unless there was some other reliable source to indicate it was Hiram.

I also noticed that there is currently no photo of his wife's grave marker attached to her memorial. I'm also interested to know if you have a source showing that his 1st wife, Sarah Webb is buried at the same cemetery as indicated? My understanding is that he was buried here because he died in the area in the Civil War & as she died 8 years earlier in NE Alabama, probably DeKalb Co, AL, it would seem odd for her to be buried here some 8 years prior to his burial here.

I'm hoping you can help.

Thanks
Briana

Memorial for Sarah (Amanda) Webb Gilliland
Please help me to understand the memorial that is posted for Sarah Webb Gilliland wife of Hiram Jackson Gilliland. Her death date is listed as 1856 in DeKalb Co, AL; however, her place of burial is listed as Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile, AL.

Hiram Jackson Gilliland is still listed in the 1860 Census in either DeKalb/St. Clair Co, AL. He did not die until 1864/65 at which time he was buried in Magnolia Cemetery and has a Confederate Monument.

I this place of burial for Sarah Webb Gilliland possibly a mistake?

Thanks for your reply.
