I grew up in Portsmouth, RI listening to the stories of "the olden days" from my great grandparents and my great-aunts and uncles. I especially loved hearing how we were related to others in the town that I never would have guessed we had any connection to! Now that I live far away from RI, and my own children are grown, I have discovered the hobby of genealogy. Using the internet to bridge the miles, as well as genealogies done by my ancestors, I have quite a lot of Portsmouth family data that I would be glad to share. I grew up attending the Portsmouth Friends Church, as did seven or more generations of our family, so it is only fitting that my first Find a Grave submissions should be those. Hope they help your research!

George Anthony Hall to Anthony Dennis Hall to Gardner Hall to David Hall to George Hall to George Hall to William Hall to Benjamin Hall to William Hall (1613-1676)
There are three lines back to William Hall.
The other two go through Charity Fish (who eventually gets back to Mary Hall to Zuriel Hall to William Hall)
and Catherine Sowle Hall.
I have Catherine to ParkerHall to George Hall to Benjamin Hall to ...
The records get confusing since there are so many George, William, and Benjamin...
Anthony Dennis Hall's brother paid to have their tree done a hundred years ago and it ended up in the big Rhode Island book.
The Charity Fish line has been researched and printed.
If your connection is Catherine, maybe you can help with that line.
Maybe not all are Quakers but a lot are. A lot of the other Quaker names end up in the tree.
I went to a service at the Quaker Meeting Hall when I went through a while back. They were friendly, but I said I was there to visit family in the back yard.

|SueH||David and Gardner|
I just posted this to the manager of David in the Hall lot
Source is (as well as family letters)
Representative Men and Old Families of Rhode Island Vol. 1 p 887 J.H. Beers and Co. Chicago 1908 Biography of George Gardner Hall, Gardner's son.
David Hall Find A Grave Memorial# 46526491 (Hall lot)
Gardner Hall Find A Grave Memorial# 28891954 (Friends Churchyard)
These are my father's direct line,
If you have relatives in the Friend's cemetery we are probably related. I put the Hall tree on wikitree.

They are in Brooks Cemetery also know as Mt.Pleasant Cemetery in Martin County, IN. I have notified the memorial owner of this. I photographed the entire cemetery and posted those names that had no memorials and on those who had memorials I posted the photo.
