Rebecca Dodds
Bruce Edward Dalton & his ancestors
Hi Thomas,
My name is Rebecca Dodds (on find a grave- contributor # 48326113 ) I would not normally leave such a long public message here, but your email address wouldn't go through.

My paternal grandmother’s name was Mabel Johanna Schoelkopf.

Her father was Christian Peter Schoelkopf.

His parents were Mathias Schoelkopf and Margaret Weimer.

Margaret Weimer's parents were Peter Weimer and Margaret Bertshey

Mathias and Margaret also had a son August Schoelkopf.

August married Mary M. (May) Peterson.

August and May had a daughter Ethel May Schoelkopf.

Ethel married Warrington Burl Dalton.
Ethel and Warrington had son Bruce Edward Dalton.
Bruce married Julie A. Floyd.
Since you are a Floyd, I figure your father was perhaps a brother of Julie?

Anyway, I wanted you to know that Bruce, as well as any children of his & Julie's, descend from the Schoelkopfs originally from, or from nearby, Buenzwangen, Göppinger Landkreis, Baden-Württemberg, Germany to Wisconsin and the Weimers who are from originally Steinselz, Alsace, (Elsass), near Darmstadt, France to Wisconsin.

Going farther back-
The Weimers go back to Paul Weimer born c 1762 in Steinselz and wife Elisabeth Neuhardt, including spouse surnames of Shau and Niess.

The Schoelkopfs go even farther back to the mid 1600's. (That we have printed records for) and include spouses like the Freys, Breitenbuchers, Spizigs, Blessings, Schollhammers, Brenners, Schwarzs, Muellers, Hummels, Abeles and Bauchles)

I have added Bruce Edward Dalton to my FindaGrave virtual cemetery of the "Descendants of Christian Schoelkopf and Catharina Barbara Frey", of which Bruce is #23, which can be accessed by-

The only folks (related to Bruce Edward Dalton that I have put memorial pages for, so far , on findagrave, are the links I gave you above. I hope you take a look at them and share with any relatives of Bruce's that care.

I hope to create new memorials soon for August Schoelkopf and wife May Peterson and then their dau Ethel Schoelkopf & her husband Warrington Burl Dalton (SR). I have looked, but have been unable to find any memorials created yet for those four people. Obviously- if you know of any...please let me know, so I don't duplicate.
Creating those four memorials would complete the searchable links on findagrave from Christian Peter Schoelkopf (born 1799) & Catharina Barbara Frey, down to your memorial of Bruce Edwin Dalton, (125 years of his ancestors).

Besides what's on FindaGrave, eventually I'll be making PDF files for the descendant trees of these various families. I have been putting them on thumb drives to send to my own family tree members. If Bruce Edwin Dalton has descendants and you think they would be very interested in the rest of the Schoelkopfs (and relations) that led to Bruce, I could eventually get it on a thumb drive and send by snail mail wherever you say. I could also just try to put in an email, but that's a heck of a lot more typing for these old fingers, but I could try. Either way, it may take a while to do that- I'd like to get August Schoelkopf , wife May Peterson, dau Ethel Schoelkopf & her husband Warrington Burl Dalton (SR) on findagrave first.

Let me know what you think.
If that interests you- I could sure use info on where Warrington Burl Dalton (SR) and wife Ethel (Schoelkopf) Dalton are BURIED. I already have census info etc.

That's it for now. I'll let you know when I get August and the other 3 up on Findagrave.
Sincerely, Rebecca Dodds
