I have been working on the Koonce and Wade family trees for a few years and enjoy finding new information. Not having alot of luck on the Wade side, too many of them. My Koonce family started out as Kouns in the 1700's from VA. I've done pretty good with that side of the family.|
I am retired Navy (Submarines) and am still working on the boats, only as a civilian. I have three girls and two grandchildren. I like being a photo volunteer, it gives me a chance to ride my bike while searching for the cemeteries.

|Nancy Klein||James Brown Koonce|
Hi, Cliff. My name is Nancy Klein and I am the great granddaughter of James Brown Koonce. My grandmother was Myrtle Koonce LaFollette. I have been unable to find much information on James's first wife Frances Marian Keyes, with whom he had a son Francis (Frank) who was the half brother of my grandmother. I have found that she was born in Ohio around 1851, and died in Kansas about 1870. Do you have any other info? I would appreciate any information that you could provide. Thanks!
Dear Cliff, I have sent you two previous messages
to your personal email address listed on the find
a grave website, so I thought I would try here. My
name is Peter Emerson, and I'm assisting my mother
with genealogical research for her father's side
of the family, which are the same Koonce family as
your. My mother's name is Josephine West, and
her maiden name is Koonce,and my mother's father
was George Robert Koonce, who was the son of John
Wheeler Koonce, who was the Grandfather of the
same James Elmer Koonce who is buried in the Plant
cemetery in Arkansas. However my mother and I are unable to find out who his parents are and we have
little info. about his last wife, Mary Wade. I would be a distant cousin of James Koonce, and my
mother isn't sure of her connection, as James Elmer Koonce is incorrectly listed as the son of my mother's father, George Robert Koonce. Could you provide me with James Elmer Koonce's father's name and his mother's maiden name and their place and dates of birth and death, and more info. on
Mary Alice Wade Koonce Kellogg? Also if you send me a private email I will provide you with my
mother's phone# as she has a wealth of info.on
The Koonce family, as she is 89 yrs. old and has
been researching them for many years.

|DOYLE SLAYDEN||Great Grandmother Alice|
Hi Cliff, Our Grandmothers were sisters. Mine was Mary Melvina Hughes
|Fr. Chris Miller||greetings from a 5th Cousin|
my name is Fr Chris Miller and i've been doing research on my g-g-g-great grandfather John Miller (1778-1849). if i understand my records correctly my 4th great grandfather miller would be your 5th great grandfather? John was married to Christinia Enders and they had 10 children. His son Philip i descend from and again, if my records are correct, it appears that your line comes from his daugther
John and Christina Miller had a daughter Catherine
Catherine Miller who was married to Daniel Seal
they had a daughter named Sallie who was married to Garret Corzine
Garret and Sallie Corzine had a daughter Elizabeth who was married to Charles Hughes
Charles and Elizabeth Hughes had a daughter lulu who was married to Chester Wade
Chester and Lulu Wade had a daughter who i believe is your mother Mary Alice who was married to James Koonce.
anyway hope this hasn't been too confusing but i'd love to hear what you know from your side
Fr Chris Miller
LEONARD CLARENCE KOONCE WAS MY SECOND GREAT UNCLE. PLEASE SEE MY FAMILY TREE AT GENI.COM

Cliff: thanks for the photo of Joseph Mizell's gravestone. I appreciate it.
Hello Cliff, Talked with my father-in-law who is a Roddenberry! He told me that Seaborn&Mary Jane are buried in what looks like an unmarked grave. All thats left is a big cement slab. So you were at the correct cemetery! My FIL also told me the he thinks that somone stole the grave maker. Hope this helps.....
