Thank you for your input on William Cooley here at Summersville. I believe the William Cooley you are referring to is different fellow. This Mr Cooley was a neighbor so I am certain my info is correct. An interesting note, his wife's maiden name was Malone.

RE: Hensley Cemetery
Hello Erin, did you find the info you were looking for about the Hensley Cemetery? I have never been there and just know it's at Lower Second Creek in Hazard, Perry County. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Sorry Erin I took that picture several years ago and I don't remember. I would have to go out to K of P and look for it to answer you.

Hi Erin, Please check memorial 103237523 and 103237468. On one of them, the dates don't match the marker photo. I'm thinking they are the same girl. Need your help. They are both connected to Edward. Thanks, Barb T.

RE: Hensley Cemetery
Hello Erin,
Actually my ancestor in Hensley Cemetery is John Hensley, my maternal grandfather. I see there are a total of six burials listed but I'm not sure of other burials. You might check with Doris Sponsler. She is the person who added the other Hensley people buried there. I have seen the Bean Eye Cemetery online but don't know who else is losted there. How are you related?

RE: Hensley Cemetery
Hello Erin, I am not sure if it is one and the same but I would think so. I have not been there and didn't know about it the last time I went to Hazard but supposedly at least part of the land the cemetery is located on was formerly owned by my grandfather, John Hensley. He is my Hensley connection. If you prefer we can communicate direct via email or I can send an 'invite' to you to browse my family tree on Ancestry. My address is

thanks erin: I see now a direct line from TJ Malone. Sometimes I'm guilty of getting all wound up with dates and relationships and not get the best part, the stories behind. It must have been tough on the kids not knowing. Have a nice day.

RE: Elizabeth Huffman Thomas Jefferson Malone
Yes it does. Thanks. Relationships get kind of fuzzy for me sometimes and I guess it's strange for a genealogist to say but especially cousin-relationships throw me a little. I was just trying to establish in my mind that far enough back you also come from the line of Alfred Huffman Sr and Sarah Jane Jones Huffman and their 12 "brood" they raised. Big families back in those days. Too bad the civil war and Fulton had to come into the picture for these good people and their kids. I read how you wrote about how the kids didn't exactly know about their parents and I'm sure that made it hard for them. Do you have any idea what family member took the kids in?

Thanks, and have a nice day.

PS I don't know if I already ask you but I've been trying to the grave or any history on one of Elizabeth Huffman Malone's sister, Martha Jane Huffman Sloan. She was born in 1840 and died in 1890 possibly in Douglas Co., MO. She married John Jasper Sloan Find A Grave#16424712 and one of their sons is W H Sloan Find A Grave#53385899 and another son John William Sloan Find A Grave# 69044139. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide. Martha Jane is the only child of Alfred Huffman Sr and Sarah Jane Jones Huffman that I have not found a Find A Grave memorial.
