|I have enjoyed the ancestor hunt a good many years. Since Christy is my direct line I have been trying to connect all that are in my family. Thanks to many of you other site managers, especially "Pam", "MLC", and IRISH EYES ARE SMILING who have helped the most with all those Davis co. and Wapello co., Iowa transfers I requested. I have connected 7 generations in some of the families.|
I will gladly transfer anyone not of my direct lines.

Andrew Van Brink may be a grandfather of my wife (3rd or 4th) and I know he died in a hospital in St Louis, MO and served in the 3rd Iowa Calvary but since you look like you have done much research on the 3rd Calvary do you know where he was wounded or why he was in the hospital. I have checked all the easy web place and found a roster but it has little to no information.
I am also trying to trace his family after 1862. I know he got a pension but as of yet have not tried to get it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was running thru the memorials of family around my 2nd great-grandfather Robert Alexander McLaughlin (84806450) and Nancy Amanda Christie Parker (59458596). The children they have are intertwined somehow with Louisa Zilphia Poole McLaughlin (84806487). I am just curious of the connection and if you'd be willing to share it?

I am on ancestry and have been tracing my family thru time. I finally have found my connections to the Christy family. First just let me thank you for all of your wonderful research! It appears that there will be several times that my family has married into yours. Your research will help me with my family research.
I have a question about Helen. Several of the records state her birth year was 1925, although her obituary says 1926. I only question the birth year because it appears that the stone also says 1925.
I just wonder if you know of an additional story that might clear this up. I know that that sounded strange, but I know that when my mom's third husband passed away. His stone was carved with the wrong birth year as she gave them the incorrect information.
Thank you again for all of your work and generosity.
Cousin (at least by marriage several times)

Hi Karen! I was working on my Strickland line, when I found your memorial page for Matthew. I have seen so many birth years for him, so I was wondering if you had proof of the date you are showing: Feb. 20, 1627. Thanks!

Buried in Dunnville Cemetery in Floris, Davis County, Iowa.
I noted from your photograph, that at the 'BASE' of the headstone, there is a list of what appears to be years, months and days. It appears that the years are 29 and the days are 22.
When you are 'OUT AND ABOUT', would you be able to check that stone base and 'TRY' to give me the spread of numbers so I may figure backwards for her birth date??
If illegible, I use shaving cream to smear into stone, then squeegee out the excess and wait for the cream to slowly dry, and 'SOMETIMES' you can get the numbers from it.

Is Ruby one of your people? If so, would you like a transfer?

You are more than welcome. I wish it would have turned out better but the sun was really bright and in the wrong position and created a glare.
I'll try and remember the next time we are down that way to see if I can get a better one. It was a very beautiful stone!

Sorry, I did not realize that I had already left and edit about parents.
Thank you for all the work you have done
