|Sara||RE: Old Cemetery gravestones|
Thanks for your kind words about my photographs at Old Cemetery in Lebanon CT. It is a beautiful town with a lovely green but oh that cemetery!!! The gravestones are facing north/south/east/west..and it is very difficult to get the sun shining just right to make the writing legible. KC and I are attempting to photograph the entire cemetery but it is a challenge!!

You are absolutely correct! E. P.'s death date was 27 not 2. Correction made, and thanks for you kind comments.

Emma T. Norris / Union Hill Cemetery
What a surprise! Please get back with me just as soon as you can and tell me specifically just where it is at Union Hill that Emma's grave is located. I am most eager to hear back from you so I can learn at long last the answer to this true mystery! I am registered at findagrave and so, given your contributor status & years of experience, I feel sure you know just how to quickly find my email address, so please do email me just as quickly as possible with the details of the location of Emma's grave.
In the unlikely event that I don't get a message back from you right away, I will simply the the person to whom my photo request is sent to contact you directly for detailed instructions as to how he or she can quickly & easily locate Emma's grave & get a photo of it for me.

Again I must apologize and check thing more carefully. Thank you for being so kind to point it out to me. I undrestand that Emma's husband is buried at Union Hill but so far no record of Emma. This was given to me by a family member. (my husband is related to any Holmes that I enter) I don't live in AL but do get there and take pictures when I can.
|Sunny Lady||Your Mother|
Lois Marie Aldredge Holmes" [sic]
With all due respect, ma'm, this is my mother's grave -- you have added an incorrect spelling of her maiden name and you have added the name "Lois," a name my mother did not use, by which she was not known, and for which she did not much care. Adding "Lois" to her grave site identification is almost certain to confuse any and everyone who ever knew her, or knew of her, or read about her, for that matter, who might be searching for her grave -- the grave of the woman who was "Marie." Moreover, my mother chose precisely what she wanted put on her grave marker, had the stone work done, and paid for it herself. Please, please remove all the excess and leave my mother's gravesite information as she chose it to be. There are ample genealogy research sources for those who wish to ferret out such details as the deceased and family specifically chose to exclude from the gravesite memorial. Please.
