RE: Velma and Ike Cheney

We went back to the cemetery today and we found Velma! I'll be posting the pictures shortly.

RE: Velma and Ike Cheney

Do they remember what part of the cemetery they were in? The lot number provided in the memorial is on the far west side, just east of the adjacent St Agnes Calvary cemetery.

It could be we didn't look far enough toward the center of the section. It's always difficult to figure out where one numbered lot ends and the next one starts. We'll look again.

RE: Photo request for Velma Cheney # 55842390

I posted the picture of Velma Cheney's gravesite. Let me know what you think. It's one of the nicest areas of the cemetery.

If Velma is related to the Cheney family living in Vermillion, SD, we can ask them about the grave, too.

Photo request for Velma Cheney # 55842390

Hi, Lisa,

We had a nice day in Vermillion, SD today so we went to Bluff View Cemetery to take pictures. You had submitted a request for a photo of Velma Cheney's grave. We looked around the area where Lot 928 is located, but didn't see a marker for "Velma Cheney." There was, however, an unmarked area that, by our reckoning with the cemetery map, is Lot 928.

I checked Velma's findagrave memorial when we got back and noticed that she was married to Paul Satter at some point. Unfortunately, the photo request list only showed Cheney as her last name, so we didn't know to look for Satter grave markers.

If you think the unmarked area is her grave, we'd be happy to post the pictures we took. Let us know your wishes.

RE: Lipelt or Michels
Hi Lisa,
Sorry, I'm of no relation to the Lipelt's or Michel's. I have a few Lodi Union High school yearbooks and I began attaching their school pictures to their memorial pages here on Findagrave. I found a Lipelt in both the 1929 and 1945 yearbooks. I'm in the process of writing a short, semi-fiction novel, set in 1945 at Lodi Union High School. One of the four main character's is named, "Donny", which is based on Donald Lipelt, who graduated from there that same year.

Take care,
