RE: comanche county texas
I am not native but I live here. I am going thru the online Comanche County death records backwards. I started in 1982 and am down to 1944 so I am about halfway done. Every other week I go to the courthouse to look up open death records not online (1983-1992). Neither I nor my spouse have connections to any names you mentioned.

Thank you for approving my edits. I know it is a lot!

Gator's gravestone
Thank you so much for finding and photographing John "Gator" Schad's gravestone! I was finally able to visit the cemetery last spring, and with the help of the very busy funeral home find his grave in that huge cemetery. I live a long way from Dallas these days. Now Gator's marker is posted for other former News employees to view online. God bless you!

RE: Ewell Orand
I don't have a dog in this hunt. I just observed the duplication while doing research. I think you have a great suggestion. Might as well get both under one roof. David

Sorry, I meant date of birth. I have made a note on the memorial that the death certificate relates date of birth as January 29, 1926.

Thanks for telling me that 1926 was not a leap year. That does not tell me a date of death.....I am going by what is on the headstone.

Pvt. James J. Bain
Memorial 86075572 This is not his father. He was 20 years old when he enlisted in the 34th N.C. Infantry and was not married. You have James Westley Bain Jr. from Texas.
