I work part time and enjoy going to cemeteries and hopefully I'm preserving someones' family history. I am in Sullivan County, NY and just recently started going to cemeteries and taking as many pictures of headstones and adding them to this great site. If there is anyone that wants me to take pictures in the Callicoon, Hortonville, Jeffersonville, North Branch, Liberty, White Sulphur Springs, Youngsville, Livingston Manor, Roscoe area...just let me know. I've been in a very old cemetery and lots of the inscriptions are almost gone...I find my searching very comforting knowing that I'm getting family history for someone! Feel free to contact me! HAPPY HUNTING!!! Holly |
Names I'm researching:
In USA BOSSLEY/WYLAM/HUGGLER/ABPLANALP/KEHRLEY/and so many other German, English and Switzerland names.
AND CANNING, EVELEIGH, HEAD, HICKS, MANUEL, MINTY, WATKINS, WELLS and many other Newfoundland, Canada families.
ALSO IN ENGLAND: ADAMS, DRAY, MORRIS

|Susan Hill||Conrad Maus|
I am in search of Conrad Maus, a Private, 58th Illinois Infantry Regiment, Co. "E" who died as a Prisoner of War in Huntsville, Alabama, 20 June 1862 while serving in the Civil War.
His service papers list his name as MAUSS, but I have been searching the spelling as MAUS also.
I ran across your memorial for two "Conrad" Maus and I'm concerned that you might have linked a father/son together that do not belong together or possibly reversed.
Although I do not believe either of these two Conrad Maus to be the one that I'm searching for, I thought that I would pass along my concern.
Conrad Maus (177777723) 1871-1901 is linked as the father of Conrad Maus (91766882) 1855-1941.
Conrad Maus (177777723) 1871-1901 can not be the father of Conrad Maus (91766882) 1855-1941 due to the birth dates.
Could it be that you possibly have the two Conrad's reversed?? Conrad Maus (91766882) 1855-1941 being the father of Conrad Maus (177777723) 1871-1901.
Looking at the birth dates, this would make more sense.

Hi there -
Wanted to ask if the blue chalk is on the headstone itself or something photoshopped in after you took the photo? Would prefer to preserve photos of my relatives/ancestors without the chalk, as it destroys some of the original look of it.
Thanks for your assistance.

|Kathy Nimelli||Mary Addison Walker|
In Dec. 2015 you added a memorial for Mary Addison Walker. She was my Grandmother. One correction. You have listed Earl Wallesen (not sure if that is how you spelled it) as the informant from the death certificate. That should be Earl Walker (her husband, my Grandfather.)
My question to you is, did you actually see this grave at the cemetery or did you just get the information from the death certificate?
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate any information I can get on my ancestors.

|Melissa||Grave information for Earl Henry Bennett|
I found your entry for the grave of Earl Henry Bennett, and you listed the informant as Robert Bennett of Liberty Street, Oil City, PA.
Earl Bennett seems to be my Great Uncle.
Is the contact information for the informant recent?
I would love to contact Robert, to see about any other family history he could share with me, but do not want to waste time if he has passed away. I know that he would have been born in 1927 or 1928.
