Born, raised and still live in Central New York. I became immersed in genealogy about 5 years ago and its been a daily joy ever since. My immediate focus involves the small towns in Onondaga and Cortland counties and have access to the main library in Syracuse and Cortland. My Banner family originated in Delaware county, NY and I have extensive information on them. I do have a website that I update frequently. Although, it requires registration, guests and family are welcome.|

|Billie Jasper||Paulks & Slafters|
How lovely to hear from you. It is nice to be appreciated. Are you descended from Slafter and Paulk? If so, we are distantly related.
I have had others challenge the information in those memorials. When invited to provide their sources, I never hear from them again. Of course if my info can be proven inaccurate by two sources I consider changing.
|Dogwalker 41||John J Wilson and Sophia L Wilson|
Thank you very much for the transfers of John J and Sophia L Wilson's memorials.
I appreciate your kindness.
|Buddy Leech||RE: Marcus Goodwin|
Thanks for your offer, Nancy, but I'll decline in this case. I appreciate your offer, but have no vested interest in Marcus Goodwin either. I often wind up far afield in chasing down families for those interred in Town of Tyrone (Schuyler County), Town of Wayne (Steuben County), and other cemeteries. And so it was with Marcus. If I see an edit to me made, I'll enter it.
Best Regards, Buddy Leech

Lodowick Gardner is my GGG-Grandfather. I had been in touch with Beverly Gardner, but lost contact with her about 10+ years ago. Lodowick is as far back as I can trace my family. I am still trying to find his father's name. I think it is John or James, but only restarted my search since I retired.

|Kem Hart-Baker||Date of Obituary for Amelia VanDee Ainsworth|
I was wondering if you might have the date of the posted obituary for Amelia Vandee Ainsworth as noted on her Find A Grave memorial # 40104878??
I would like to use this info from her obit as a reference but to do so, it should have the date and possibly the page number from the newspaper.
Thank you, Kem
|Marilyn Lane||Caroline Arnold|
Hi Nancy: I'm pretty certain that the Caroline Arnold buried in the Tully Cemetery is not the spouse of George Harrison Arnold. First of all, she would have been 15 when she died (1849-1864). George is shown in the 1880 census with a wife named Caroline and a child, Edward H. Arnold. Also, on Ancestry.com there is a George Harrison Arnold family tree with info about his wife Caroline Maria Corbin. She is shown as being born 12 May 1845; died 14 Oct 1883.

I rechecked and it is Mary Constant Barker who married Thomas Stroud. Her daughter is Mary Content Stroud. Confusing if I do not check the records first. Too many trees.
My wife is a Thomas Stroud / Mary Constant Barker. Their son was Alonzo Stroud m Maria Jane Kemp and moved to Tacoma, WA.
I have the same information on Eunice and Phebe.
I do not believe they are sisters now, but close.
I am even looking for a sister in law that may be widowed. Maybe Eunice and Phebe were middle names? Who knows at this point.
I am screeching through the Judah Hopkins, a neighbor of Josephus Barker in Otisco. Judah is a lawyer, Rev War veteran, and was the first town supervisor in April 1, 1806. Jospehus Barker is the town clerk and assessor. Later Josephus is town supervisor. Both are referred to as Joseph.
See the Onondaga's Centennial of 1896. Page 926. 927. 931. Also checked his relations, etc. No luck.

Nancy; Thank you for answering. I have a few corrections and edits.
Content is also is also the name of Josephus Barker's sister and aunt. I am sure Mary Content Barker was to carry on that name. It was passed on by her. Her son Alonzo Stroud married Maria Jane Kemp, Baraboo, Wisconsin, and relocated to Tacoma, Washington.
Mary Content was buried in Iowa, and not Tacoma. Her husband was Thomas Stroud Jr. He is buried at Strawberry Point, Iowa, and he outlived her. The father of Thomas Stroud III, was Thomas Stroud II and he was from Otisco. The house addresses of the Barker's and Stroud's exist.
I have been working on the Eunice and Phebe Hopkins for some time. Maybe they could be from Stephen Hopkins brother William. Decendents of William also moved to the Onondaga area. I can not find two sisters that exist at that time from any line. Records (incomplete) indicate they are sisters, but maybe cousins, or one could be a widow that married a Hopkins.
|Harold Steenbergen||Phebe Hopkins, 1780-1818|
Phebe Hopkins, 1780-1818, married Josephus Barker.
Both lived and are buried in Hillsdale Cemetery, Otisco, NY.
They had a daughter, Mary Constant Barker, born 1812 Otisco, NY and died 1894, Tacoma, Washington. Mary is noted in the probate record of her Father. She married a next door neighbor from Otisco, a Thomas Stroud. Records exist for the Stroud family who lived in Otisco.
Looking for the lineage of Phebe Hopkins and Eunice Hopkins (who married Josephus barker after Phebe died.
