RE: Willis Headstone Pictures
I know I will go again and I am going to try to see if I can get someone interested in doing some preservation. That is one of the oldest cemeteries in the county. As far as the snakes, I make a lot of noise and stomp around so they think I am crazy and the snakes move on or hide from me! :)

Most of the stones are down and the cemetery is very overgrown. I will try and go back to take more photos in the fall when the weeds are dead and the chance of finding a snake is less. I have a terrible fear of snakes. :(

RE: Thanks
Hi Cathy, you are most welcome. I'm a genealogy addict too! My camera was not working the day I was at the cemetery so those photos were taken with my phone. I'll get better ones the next time I am there.
Best wishes,
Vivian

I own the photo. My great grandfather brought it with him when he moved from New Jersey to Texas in 1877.

RE: Thanks
Sorry I was unable to completely fill your request. The stone was gone before 1992 according to records. There are two other Joseph Wadleighs and their spouses/children in the cemetery with stones. One died in 1808 and one died in 1817. I eventually will add most of the stones for the cemetery, but would be happy to start with those.

Hi there,

Your very welcome. Evergreen is my favorite cemetery to photograph, and its literally about a mile from my house, the pleasure is all mine.

Take care and good luck in your research!

Sincerely,
Brigitte

Valentine Gerling photo
I just posted a photo for Valentine Gerling in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester as per your photo request. The death date on his stone is 1904 which does not match the memorial record of 1890 in his memorial. I put my reasoning under comments under the lot picture. I believe he is the Valentine you are seeking, brother to Jacob Gerling in Section C.

If I am in error, one of us should be able to remove the picture and maybe someone else can search further.

Lillian Gerling Chapin
Cathy,
You are welcome - I have added photos for the rest of the Gerling family in Lot C. I also added a memorial for Lillian, one of Jacob's and Louisa's daughters whose stone sits in front of the rest of the family. I will turn over management of her memorial if you would like. You probably have more information about her than I could find with a quick look on the internet.
