Hello,I have been researching my families: NEKVASIL, JANUCHOWSKI, JARKA, JORGENSEN AND HESTER for over 30 years and am ecstatic to add my information to Find A Grave. My husband, Mike is pictured in the Find a Grave Scrapbook under Free Stickers (6th picture down) since HIS job is "finding graves". He works for the local burial vault company: CALUMET WILBERT VAULT CO. of Gary, Indiana.|
We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that some how they know and approve.
Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we some how find ourselves. How many graves have I
stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors, "You have a wonderful family; you would be proud of us." How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say.
It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen. The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up,their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family.
It goes to deep pride that the fathers fought and some died to make and keep us a Nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us.
It is of equal pride and love that our mothers struggled to give us birth,without them we could not exist, and so we love each one, as far back as we can reach. That we might be born who we are. That we might remember them. So we do.
With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are they and they are the sum of who we are. So, as a scribe called, I tell the story of my family. It is up to that one called in the next generation to answer the call and take my place in the long line of family story tellers.
That is why I do my family genealogy, and that is what calls those young and old to step up and restore the memory or greet those whom we had never known before.
Feel free to use any pictures or information I have added to any memorial. And HEY! send me a note that you did. Love hearing from fellow "gravers" And PLEASE remember this is not a game of numbers.,its a LABOR OF LOVE FOR OTHERS. If you have any questions, inquiries or concerns, JUST ASK!! I will try to help as many living AND non-living as I can.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

|DKMac||Carolyn May "Carrie" Farwell Fuller|
I see you put up a picture of Carrie. Is the Farwell family part of your history? I am a descendant of an undocumented Farwell dght, Minerva. (I can't find any hard proof, but there's lots of circumstantial evidence). I'm looking for anyone that might have old photos of the family. I have over 100 unidentified pics that go back to the 1840s and I do have a picture of Minerva, so there are probably pics of other family members out there.

Hi Cindy.... As a fellow NWI Graver, I want to say thank you for all that you do! I would like to kindly ask you for a transfer of Judi Huber Memorial number 122101806. I do not ask for Transfers very often as I am usually very happy to give mine away whenever I can help people find their loved ones. Judi was my Mother In Law's sister, my husband's beloved Aunt. It looks like you made the memorial from the Newspaper obit. If you read it you will find my last name matches next of kin in the obituary, Jean is my mother in law. If I can be of any help to you in South Lake County, please let me know! Thank you again, Kara Graper

Thank you for the transfer of this memorial. I've updated it.

In case you didn't know, Betsy's husband, John passed away a few years ago. Thanks again.
|Petoskey History||Betsy Johnson's Mother|
Hello. Happened to come across your name on a flower left for the mother of Betsy Johnson, Nadine Doeppers. That led me to read your profile. I loved it and found it touching.
|Karen A.||Jean Przybylinski Kraemer 103036174|
Just noticed this memorial created 2013 seems to be a duplicate for Jean N. Kraemer 30959042, from 2008 if you compare dates and the info. in obituary of husband Lawrence. Someone added a nice gravestone photo to yours with the dates on it but they have contact info. hidden. Would be nice to somehow revert to just one memorial for this person and combine all the info. since each one has things the other does not. Thanks.

Hi Cindy, We corresponded more than a year ago about Isabelle's burial location. Her father, Andrew Kraemer is at Pine Grove. Isabelle's death record says she's also at New Buffalo, but evidently they don't have that record. The memorial lists her at Greenwood and you were going to try and verify. Did you have any luck with that proof? Thanks.

|MissT||131506132 Sr. Ackfeld|
Could you please remove the photo you posted to this memorial as it is not of Sr. Ackfeld, but of Sr. Aloysia. I was contacted by another contributor that this was a mix up. Thank you! ;)

|Out of the area - Jon Slaton||Thanks|
Thanks for making the changes on # 128188362, Louise Wible. Sometimes you can look and look for relatives, only to find their name is spelled incorrectly in your own database.
