His youngest brothers name was Dennis Eugene Tobey his spouse's name was Martha A. Nelson. Dennis & Martha's daughters name was Gwendolyn Tobey , she was b. 24 Sept, 1926 in Bellevue, Eaton, Michigan , and d. in Mich. She married on Feb. 3, 1945 in Elkhart, Elkhart, Indiana, his name was Sanford William Washburn Sr. b. 17 Feb 1916 in Petosky, Emmet, Mich, d. in Petosky, Emmet, Mich. I really enjoy doing genealogy very much. I had lived in Michigan for 22 years. After moving around with my husband and raising our 2 sons. I am a widow and living in Marion, North Carolina. I posted a picture of Bertha but it was upside down. I will re-post soon. As far as William, we found a little stone with a deer etching but no name. There was a veteran's flag next to it though. To get a veteran's marker you need to contact the VA. I'm not sure what all they need but probably start with a DD214 and a death cert. You may have to prove you're next of kin also. Best of luck! TC
