Thank you to all who contribute their time and talent to this important resource.|
I do transfers under Findagrave guidelines. If you are not familiar with the guidelines please do review them. I am not likely to make a transfer without specifics that fall in those guidelines--in keeping with a system of fairness.
I also appreciate specific sources when sent information to update a bio. We are building something special and 'facts' need to be verifiable.
And please, if you send a transcribed obituary or news item--please provide the source.
An impressive genealogist honor code is found at the link below--I agree with it!

|Jerry Bloom||Vincent Idzikowski/Bloom|
Vincent's family changed name from Idzikowski to Bloom about 1920, including father, brothers and their children. Names were interchangeable from 1920-1940s in various records, including census, draft registrations, marriages, etc. Vincent Idzikowski was married (1913) to Anna Ropel. Unknown if Rose and Anna are same wife. Cannot locate marriage record for Rose. Both Idzikowski and Bloom names are on his headstone application, signed by (wife) Rose (Idzikowski) Bloom.

Thank you Russ, much appreciated.
|Dennis Dooley||Pokorny question|
Dear Russ C: Found your Find-a-Grave note on the Kubat/Pokorny graves at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Illinois very helpful—also tantalizing. I believe I am a descendant of the John Pokorny you mention there, and I have been trying in vain for several years to connect him and his brother Marie (nee Faushlau] and sister Ella Patterson with the rest of my Pokorny ancestors, who I believe emigrated from Bohemia to Illinois c. 1854. (The censuses, alas, have not revolved the issue.)
Do you have any suggestions as to how I might go about this quest? Or would you be able to help me?
I'm also fascinated by how you go about creating such a Find-a-Grave entry. Could we ever talk?
|Jim Herman||RE: Thank you for photo request response|
You're very welcome.
Please note that there is a difference in spelling between Marguerite Lyons and Marguriete Williams, so, this would leave me to assume these are two different people.
|Bonnie||Re: Herbert Caywood|
Thank you for clearing this up for me. As I have no proof either way I will add the information you sent and listing you as the person who gave the information, therefore if anyone wants to check they can contact you. I didn't used to do this and then when someone wanted to know where the information came from I couldn't remember.

What is your proof that he died in Alaska? I only ask because he is listed in the Oregon death index as having died there. Bonnie

|David James Schimka||RE: Memorial Transfer Request|
My great uncle John Schimka and my great aunt, were not able to have children that would survive to adulthood at the time. The condition is correctable today but unfortunately was not well understood back then. Both of their children died before reaching one year of age.
Though technically it does not make me any closer in relationship, my great uncle's wife was the sister of my grandmother - brothers from the Schimka family married sisters from the Nitti family.
All of the brothers and sisters on both sides of the family have passed away. I would appreciate very much if you would transfer the memorial in this case.
|David James Schimka||Memorial Transfer Request|
I would like to request the transfer of memorial number 147084201. The memorial is that of John Schimka, my great uncle and the uncle of my father, Dennis John Schimka.
My Find A Grave Contributor number is 8365579.
|John Homer Cochran||RE: Thank you for sponsoring memorials|
I hope this helps pay their electric bill.
