My name is Laurie... I met my very good friend Harold (I knew him by Pruett) one day at a friend's place about ten years ago. I had been out all night and passed out on the floor. Pruett carried me to bed. Ever since that day we were buddies! We had so many awesome adventures together. Pruett was always so funny, the life of the party and ready for anything. I also saw the 'broken' side of him. There were some times when I could see that he was hurting so bad inside...

He was crazy - so was I, back then. Thankfully, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and the last time I used heroin, coke, etc. was 3/9/2001 and I never want to go back to that misreable existance. When I got clean I called Pruett and he had just gotten married. He said he was clean too and said, "I've been in AA for 10 years and still never met anyone as bad as you - how did you stop?" I was able to tell him about Jesus.

Pruett called me 'Superman' because I had tried to commit suicide a number of times jumping - off of an eight story building and a second story bedroom window. (With painful consequences)

About a month before Pruett died, he asked me how much heroin a person could do after they had been clean for a while without overdosing...I begged him not to even think of it - I didn't know, I'd overdosed myself after being in jail for a while, it didn't take much...

When I found out about his death I was so upset... his being alone when he died... my heart was so broken. I asked God where Pruett was - and He said, "Don't worry, he's with Me." This was confirmed a year later by another good friend of Pruett's named Sharlene who I met one night. She asked the Lord the same question I did with the same answer, "Don't worry, He's with Me." Sharlene even asked "Why?" and the Lord said, "Mercy." I know with confidence that I will see my friend Pruett again one day...he will be in my heart forever.

I am in the process of writing an autobiography and because Pruett was such a big part of my life - I can't help but include him in this. I want to dedicate my book to all the drug/heroin addicts out there and give people hope...
