Like most of the people that post photographs to Find-A-Grave, I enjoy the search and the traveling to locate tombstones of lost friends and relatives for people. If possible I use other sources to flesh out the inscription information, because I feel sorry for the deceased person that only has a birth or death date memorial. For me transcribing a faded or worn inscription to get that last tid-bit of information inscribed years ago to memorialize a lost friend or family member adds a special thrill to the search.
I once met another Find-A-Grave contributor at a library, and what a unique conversation we had. We had a brief conversation about our successes and failures and exchanged information. Pretty neat!
Let me know about corrections. I have found problems on both tombstone inscriptions and death certificates. The information added to a memorial is a balance of checking other sources and official documents with the inscriptions.
If you are a family member I will gladly transfer the memorial to you.
As an end to this verbiage, I found one of my own relative's tombstones during a Find-A-Grave search for someone else. There are also times when visiting an old cemetery that I wish that I had the time to photograph all the old tombstones in order to bring the names of the deceased back into memory.

John J Quaintance
There is one more page to Mr. Quaintance's obituary if you care to delete one of his duplicate stone pictures. It doesn't matter to me as I'm not related.
Thanks for all of your work for FindAGrave.

RE: Jacob Ernsperger
You are very welcome. Jacob is the only Ernsperger listing I found in about half of Marshall County. I checked my genealogy file and did not find any Ernspergers. Maybe it was spelled different.

Thank you so much for taking these photos - I really appreciate it and they look great! I have not had any luck yet in identifying the Hampsher siblings (Ann Hampsher Ernsberger) but will let you know when the mystery is solved.

Thanks for finding this stone. I have walked through that cemetery several times and never came across it, wonderful find.

James Hamilton in Likens Cemetery
Jerry,

I was just looking at the photos you took of James Hamilton's tombstone in Likens Cemetery in Marion County, Ohio and wanted to thank you for not only the excellent photos (showing 3 views is great!) but for taking the time to upload the inscription and description as well.

You are a prime example of why findagrave is such a great place for family history research.

Thank you so much,

Patricia Kitto

You have Feb. 3, 1850 as the death date on the site but the tombstone says February 23? He is my third great-grandfather. Thank you.
