I mainly do genealogy research on members of the Swafford and Swofford families. However, I have found that most the families marriages into the Swafford kin are better record keepers than our family. So, over the years I have gathered other family names and have added it to my records. I currently live in Marion (Grant Co.), Indiana|

Oh oh. I didn't see that. Sorry. I will take mine off. Not a problem. I e-mailed the death cert to you. Hopefully you can open it as I sent it as a PDF.

I have located a death certificate for this person and it states he is buried in West Point Cem., Liberty, Union Co., Indiana. He is not on the list so I am putting him there. I would think this would be pretty authentic proof of where he is buried. I will also request a tombstone picture. Thanks.

Jerry, please email me at email@example.com so we can get these Swafford's and Swoffard's straightened out in East Fork. I am not understanding what you are explaining about them.
Your memorials now for John Leland and Mary Estes Swofford are doubles and need to be deleted as the memorials with the Swafford's names has been changed and corrected. Thank you, Kaye

Jerry, corrections have been made on Leland and Mary Estes Swofford and also John B. Swofford. You will need to delete yours now. Okay? Thanks, Kaye

Jerry, I have sent corrections to the person who has Mary Estes Swafford and John Leland Swafford memorials, on the spelling of their names along with source of info. I hope he corrects them, we shall see. If he does, you will have to remove yours as yours are a later date. These two names are in the cemetery book as Swafford. But according to Ancestry, they are wrong. It is hard for me to tell from the picture on Leland's Find A Grave website, just what the spelling is on his marker. I will get out there and see for myself and chalk it. This Swafford/Swofford name has been misspelled in many places. Do you have anymore evidence of their names spelling? Thanks, Kaye Harkins McClintock

Did you know this is a double? Could you please correct it? Thank you, Kaye Harkins McClintock

You might want to remove your picture of the tombstone since someone else has posted a newer one with the death date on it.
|Lynne Johnston Westra||Phoebe (Swafford) Summers|
I've been trying to trace my gg-grandmother Phoebe Swafford who married Harper Summers. They lived in Franklin County Illinois. I don't know her kin, but census records say she was born in KY. After Harper's death in 1870, other than mention in his will, I find no info on her. One of her son's is housing "cousin" Austin Swofford in 1880, Franklin Co IL. I'm not sure who his parents were, but i have a newspaper article that Austin died in Colorado in 1882.
Can you help??
|L. Bolen||Sarah Swafford|
I received a message from findagrave.com indicating that you fulfilled my photo request for Sarah Armstrong Stafford, but I'm unable to see any photos on her page ( Memorial # 124167851 ). Can you tell me - was there a legible memorial for Sarah? Thank you, L. Bolen.

I have added the links.
Thank you Jerry for adding John and America to Find A Grave. It is too bad that we cannot find their precise death and burial information.
One question for you about America. I see you have added a middle name of Ann. Please tell me where you got that name. The 1860 census calls her R. A. Hardin, and so I have assumed she was named after her mother Rebecca, i.e., Rebecca America Hardin. I don't see "Ann" on any record. She also named one of her daughters Rebecca. So, it made sense to me. It is very common for folks of this time period to discard their given first name and use their middle name (or even a nickname).
Thanks for all your research into the Swafford and Hardin branches of "the tree."
