I live in Oklahoma. I was bitten by the genealogy bug about 15 years ago and have been addicted ever since. I also love gardening and cats.

Please email me with any additional information, corrections or questions you might have. Please indicate Find A Grave in the subject line.

I am connected in some way, close or distant, to many (but not all) of the memorials I have entered. I do not believe, as some do, that Find A Grave guidelines are chiseled in stone when it comes to transfers. I will transfer memorials if I am not related or on a case by case basis. Feel free to ask.

A family tree can wither if nobody tends it's roots.

A garden without a cat scarcely deserves to be called a garden at all.

Grave Marker for Charles Kennedy
Hi Karma - I took some pictures of the cemetery at Elizabethtown, New Mexico and Charles Kennedy's grave marker last year. I went back this year for more photos only to discover that the marker has disappeared. It's very sad to see that some one would steal a piece of history from a cemetery. I wonder if anyone knows anything more about this.

Della Nixon Find A Grave# 47221282
Della Mae Jenkins, (b) Hitchita, McIntosh County, Oklahoma, daughter of Jesse Robert Jenkins and Susan Emma Bennefield. She 1st married Franklin Pickens VanHorn son of Charles James VanHorn and Leona Pinkerton.

Della and Frank had children:
(daughter) Melba Lea VanHorn born 30 Dec 1925 in Hichita, McIntosh County, OK (d) 26 Nov 2006 and SSN last benefit paid Chula Vista, San Diego County, California, she married a Thomas, but I donít know who he is other than that.
(son) Charles James VanHorn Find A Grave#118129160
(daughter) Frances VanHorn (abt 1936 in OK) I have no further info on her yet.

The family was enumerated in McIntosh County, OK in 1940.

I have looked for a marriage license on Della and Gabe Nixon, but so far I have not found one. I know at one point she was in Colorado as that is where she was when she applied for SSN. Then ends up in CA, This lady has been around the block a time or two, LOL

RE: Jalia Patterson Boatright
Thank you so much for the compliment. I worked hard on the website and the tombstone inventory. We may be cousins. I am a descendant of Celia Ann PATTERSON (1811-1901)

Writeup on Olmstead/Emicks
I recently found a 'leaf' on my ancestry tree and through your message on the gravesite of Richard Guy Emick, I have been able to get the names of several 3rd cousins I didn't know that I had. Thanks so much.

(My great grandmother, Emma Olmsted Lass, was the sister of George W. Olmsted, Richard's son.)

RE: Eliza Beardsley
Karma I also posted some on the Dewey family that never had them if you're interested. Do you know how they are related? Maybe you can send links to the so the family will be easy to figure out. I was going to look for census info but you might know. :) Also did you notice the 2 Sarah Dewey memorials, birth dates the same, but death different, is this the same lady? She was married 3 times I believe. Luella

Jones Farm
Some of the McClung graves at FG McClung north of Rupert have not yet been moved to Jones Farm. The ones with photos are actually at Jones Farm. I have to give the person reasonable amount of time to move, and if that fails, then I contact FG staff for assistance.
The one puzzling me at the moment is Alban S. McClung. No stone at McClung, but have not yet found other records. Sometimes names on stones vary from other records while dates match.
Too bad Greenbrier County does not have online historic newspapers, would be helpful.
