Bio Photo You have my permission to use any headstone photo I have posted, as you wish.

If you are responding to me because of an "edit" I sent to you or a memorial I made, PLEASE include the memorial number or the URL to that page. A simple mention of their name is not enough.

I will gladly make changes or corrections, no matter how small, if you request them. PLEASE do this by clicking on "edit" at the upper-right corner of the memorial, use their form to notify me by email. If this is your loved one, I would prefer transferring management to you. Just ask, same process.

I'm always happy to transfer to any family member. I'll never understand the reluctance of some contributors to let go of the memorials of strangers simply because they've created them. That's why we do it isn't it? For their family to find them. That's why I do it.

I have always enjoyed visiting cemeteries, especially the older, historical sections, long before I knew any of the "residents"... I am a regular visitor to Lower Lake Cemetery as it is nearest to me and I have friends and family there.

I began making entries at Find a Grave, first with ancestor's info, my parents in Hayward, then Lower Lake Cemetery because I have lived here for so long, I knew or know of many of the "residents." I knew many of these people personally and/or their families. I am not related to any of them directly. Two sets of in-laws, including my husband, many friends, high-school teachers and classmates, the doctor that delivered my son, etc., etc. My son has eight grandparents in this cemetery counting the greats- and steps-. My parents are in a Hayward cemetery because they made their own pre-need arrangements. If they were here, I would take care of them too. Thanks to Find A Grave I am able to "visit" them, add virtual flowers and notes, gather them and their families into virtual cemeteries I made for that purpose, and so on. I love that we can request headstone photos for those distant graves and get them! Usually. I DON'T LOVE THE FUSS ABOUT COPYRIGHT ISSUES THAT OCCUR OCCASIONALLY.

Every time I start to work on my family tree, I get side-tracked in the local cemetery. Since the beginning of 2011, I have been systematically photographing all the tombstones there and making memorials here. I REPEAT, FEEL FREE TO USE ANY HEADSTONE PHOTOS I HAVE ADDED AS YOU WISH!

I am always researching AKRIDGE and HAVENHILL/HEAVENHILL/HIMMELBERGER family trees... when I'm not getting lost in my neighboring cemetery.

Happy hunting.

RE: Thank you for the Everett Wren edits
Ah! I am morally certain she was buried there. She may have had a wooden cross or something that didn't last. Or the stone may have sunk, but if their cemetery records were done by human beings, it could have been lost. At our cemetery in Blair, since I have transcribed old obits, often I will find the plot because it is one of the Unknowns--right beside a husband or wife who seemed to like each other a lot. Or--again in eastern Nebraska/western Iowa, the ground under a stone that doesn't have a foundation can sink, with grasses growing over it like over an old sidewalk that nobody really cares for. We have a probe, and go down the line: Nothing, Nothing, Nothing, CLINK! and there, about 4" down, is a polished marble slab, with names and dates and all. Then, of course, we get hold of city hall and the cemetery sexton, to make sure that the 2018 edition of the cemetery records includes this old one. Thank you ever so much! I truly appreciate your advice. Back the lady's memorial goes, to be beside her husband.

I appreciate your note, and the flowers left. I switched the cemetery for Leita to burial unknown. I hope this is the correct way to do it.

RE: Thank you for the Everett Wren edits
Hi, Judy,

You are surely welcome.

The reason her name wouldn't be in the Rose Hill cemetery book is that she died in 1986, and the Harrison County Genealogical Society walk-through was in about 1985, even though the cemetery book was published in 1987. I think City Hall has the actual grave records on cards, but I don't get over there. I think her name might be on the other side of her husband's stone, if I remember correctly from another communication.

Thank you for the transfers. I've never included my number before. Now that you bring that up I can see how that would be a good thing. Thanks again.

I am requesting the transfer of this memorial. Oscar was the brother of my grandpa.

I'd also like to request the transfer of his wife
Johanna Bertina Ostrem Renli 70819719. Thanks!

Could I have this one and those of his family?

Thank you
