I believe citing information is one of the most important things we can do as family historians. Hearsay is keen and legend can be colorful, but it does not help tell the truth of the individual. While I am all in favor of placing tall tales in histories, I am also in favor of knowing who told the tale. Stories are important, even more important are those who tell them; that they be credited.

I am extensively researching the Mound/Hickory Grove Cemetery (formerly known as the McDaniel Cemetery) in Story County, Iowa. If you have information about anyone in the cemetery or descendants of those buried there, I would love to hear your story.

I live in the county and am willing to move about looking for images to add for anyone wanting them (especially Mound Cemetery and Ames Municipal Cemetery). I also add to the Iowa Gravestone Photo Project as part of this research.

Thank you and enjoy!
