Thomas enlisted in Company F of the 22nd Virginia Cavalry Regiment on 8/1/63 and was present in the unit until 12/31/64. Company F was commanded by Captain William Washington Brown. Thomas was given the rank Sergeant Major at the time of his enlistment. He was promoted to 2/Lt on 1 November 1863. In the New River Notes internet site it noted that he was due a $50 bounty. |Clinton G.||Luther Hix Padgett|
Greetings! I noticed you posted a photo of Luther Hix Padgett and wife on their memorial. Are you by chance related to them? His grandfather William Franklin Padgett 1840-1918 was a brother to my ancestor John Alexander Padgett 1837-1909.

You sent an edit regarding Elsie's middle name being Reaves. I can't find any record for that name. If you could send me documentation for the name or direct me where to search it would be most helpful. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend.
