Hilke Photo Requests
Hi,

I went to do your photo requests today. The photo I took of Martin & Bernice's marker wasn't a good one so I will go take another one soon. Do you know for sure that Lella R. is a Hilke? I think she belongs to the next grave plot and is a Stratton, not a Hilke. Her marker has only Lella R. and dates on it; however, it matches the other Stratton markers. Lella is listed in the 1880 census records with the other Strattons. So, I'm interested in what you know about Lella.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Porter Cemetary
I am very sorry about some of the pictures I uploaded for your requests. This cemetery is literally in pieces. A lot of the stones have been moved and even more have been broken. Hopefully after more research I will find where the rest of your requests are SUPPOSED to be buried and go from there. :-)

Thanks,
Jaimie

John Ruby Dotson
Robert, I tried to fill your photo request yesterday. I found the plot nbr but only a William Dotson w/3 empty spaces. I added William should he be related. I will check w/the cemetery next week when I go again to see if they are unmarked or the plot nbr is wrong. James

Monroes in Mitchell
Hi there:

You're welcome for the photos. My husband and I were there on a good day last month. The plot for David & Ada has Ruby and one base stone without a headstone. Not sure who that might be, any ideas? I was thinking that (because it's an older base stone) it might be either a parent or an infant from early in their marriage. If I had to guess, I would say that the base stone is consistent with headstones from 1890-1920. But that's just a guess. I put this in as an "unknown Monroe".

Warm regards,
Carrie

Greenwood fam plot
Hello Robert,
I found the Greenwood fam plot in Commonwealth Cemetery. There is the tall main stone for Alfred 1854-1899, and in front of that are 4 other headstones. Alfred 1882-1913, the "FATHER" stone with poem, Mary, and Florence. Alfred d.1913 and 'poem' stones' writing was totally invisible until gently cleaned with brush and water, revealing what I've included in captions, which were also verified by taking very gentle rubbings. The tall stone for Alfred(d.1899)has a flower at the top of the "in memory of" inscription and the poem stone also has a flower at the top of the inscription. Could this indicate Mary ("mother")arranged for both headstones for Alfred Sr.?

I hope these pictures and info are helpful to you.
Linda
