|I am the 5th great-granddaughter of Francis Martin who was born ca. 1766 in NC, married and had children in SC, then settled in Lawrence County, Mississippi. Other direct ancestors of this line include Slater, Russell, Page, McLemore, McKay, and Kilcrease. Also on my paternal/Martin side, I have Kempners and Lyons who were from Austria/Prussia and came to Arkansas. On my paternal grandmother's side, I am Italian with Panepinto, Cortese, Morana, and Scaccia settling in NJ, LA, and TX.|
On my maternal side, I can trace back to Early Woodbury with Thomas Drakeley. I also have a Martin and King line from New Hampshire. There are Germans Wolters in Illinois then into Minnesota, Oxtons from England and Bennets from Ireland into Wisconsin and North Dakota. Maternal grandmother brings me Worms and Nielsens from Denmark into Iowa.
I love researching my roots and have discovered I am related to Wild Bill and to US Grant!

I made a page for her in 2008, you have a duplicate. Since you appear to be a relative, I transferred my page to you. Please combine them to the one with a pic of a headstone, so there won't b 2 pages for her. A Find A Grave member notified me of the duplicate.....

For Abraham Lyons. Kindly revise the cemetery in which Abraham is buried. Should be Bnai Amoona Cemetery (Old Section).
|Dave||Martin kinfolk or just coincidence?|
Francis and Mary Martin were members of the Bethel Baptist Church in or around May 1835 . There were some other Martin's as well who were Members.

The reason I have thought they may be kinfolk is that Francis and Mary Martin are members of the Bethel Baptist Church of Lawrence County, Miss. and John Pigg Martin was the preacher at that time. Thanks for the response..

My name is David Martin. Oklahoma resident. My gggg grandfather, John Pigg Martin was the preacher of the church , Bethel Baptist in Lawrence county, Mississippi. I am looking for information that may tie John Pigg Martin (as a brother , cousin, etc.) to Francis Martin who was in the same county and church as John Pigg Martin. Are there any of the Martins in your area that may have some info on that? We have been digging (figuratively speaking) for awhile to see if these Martin families connect. It appears that they do somehow--we just don't know where. ANY info , direction you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I have a suspicious feeling that your Francis Martin and descendants are kinfolk to my fourth great grandfather, John Pigg Martin. I am trying to make a connection to find siblings of John P. Martin. My gggg grandfather was a well known baptist preacher in Lawrence county, Mississippi , smith county, Mississippi, Copiah county, miss. do you happen to know what the middle name of YOUR John p. martin was.? I am trying to find the parents of my gggg grand dad to break down a proverbial brick wall. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Hello all. I am Roy Lewis Shults. Yes, you read that right. I am named for my paternal grandfather, whose gravestone is on this site. I can add some names missing on the family list. Vira Clint was my aunt, and older sister to my father, Lewis Brandon Shults, and his brothers, Roy Gail Shults and Howard Shults. My father died on November 10, 1968, in Ridgecrest, California. My uncle Gail, as he was known, died in McLean, Virginia in 1996. I do not know much about my uncle Howard. My father and my uncle all served in the United States Navy in WWII. My father and uncle Gail were career Naval officers, and my uncle Gail is buried in Arlington National Cemetery; he also served in Korea and Vietnam. I can add some going forward information, but nothing else going back. I did not even know my grandmother Maude Brandon, who died the year I was born. I actually learned her name here. This is a sobering but very informative site, and thank you for creating and maintaining this part of it.

Good Morning. I was wondering how you were connected to the Shults/Clint family? Vira Shults Clint is my 2nd cousin 1x removed. Her mother is Maude Ella Brandon Shults & her grandfather is Wyatt Turner Brandon. Wyatt is the older brother of my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Brandon Adams. If you are interested, I would love to connect & share information.

You're welcome for the pictures. I noticed that there are several more Clints buried at Buena Vista whose photos have not been requested. If they are requested, I'll look for them whenever I have a cnance.
