My special interest is in documenting monuments that are in danger of deteriorating. Not to mention any family I can find.|
This is my chance to Pay it Forward for the kindness that has been extended to my husbands family. While I joined Find A Grave years prior, I didn't actively pursue documenting memorials until recently. While doing genealogical research on my husband's family, I happened upon an entry for a "missing" grand uncle on Find-A-Grave. This opened up a whole chapter on finding out what happened to him, and we are grateful for it.
I'll gladly transfer management of memorials upon request, no matter what your relation (unless they turn out to be relatives with regards to myself or my husband - but I will transfer a relative to a direct descendant if I am not one).
If there are differences in record keeping at the cemetery office I may ask to retain management.
I create every memorial with the hope that their family will find them. Every transfer request I receive makes me know its worth it.
Please let me know if you find any errors or if I've duplicated a memorial, I'll fix it! It's so important to have dates correct and names properly spelled - but we all make mistakes, and sometimes the markers are very difficult to read. Keep in mind that I am also working from cemetery records which may have misspellings and other inaccuracies.
Feel free to use my photos for your personal genealogical project. But, please do not use my photos to create duplicate memorials on Find-A-Grave.
My photos are of public places, and of no artistic merit. I volunteer here to SHARE and to make sure memorials are as accurate as possible.

Just a note,
I see another member is trying to ask for your permission to use your pic for memorials for this cemetery. I thought I would give you both a quick message about it to try to resolve it. :) she is asking about Monahan and Etzdorf. (find a grave member #48239677) looks like this will resolve 5/6 requests.
Be Well! Victoria
Another for ya

Thank you so much for this. I am hoping his family will appreciate me doing this. (I am his ex-wife and mother of his daughter Jennifer). I will certainly take your recommendation changing picture formats.

|John||Charles E. Rines|
Reference your photo request for Charles Rines, 1906-1907, at Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton, Massachusetts: Charles is NOT buried in this cemetery. He is buried with his mother at South Easton Cemetery, S. Easton, Massachusetts (about three miles away).
I searched for Charles several times at Coweeset, but failed to find him. I was looking for someone else entirely at the other cemetery when I found his grave. Charles and his mother are buried with several Elliott family members.
Please delete the memorial for Charles, and create a new one placing him and his mother in South Easton Cemetery, and I will be pleased to post the picture of the gravestone.

Thanks so very much for writing. I think we are good. It was so nice of you to check with Family Search. Thanks for your most kind deed.

Just wanted to update you...the gate is locked. When it isn't rainy I will climb the wall (don't worry, it is very low!) and get in to get the pictures.

I recently learned about my cousin's passing and I would certainley like to thank you for your efforts. Being from New Hampshire, it is difficult to obtain such a photo. In addition to myself, there are newly found cousins in Cleveland, OH and I am sure they will extend their thanks as well.
Another instance of the power and usefulness of Find A Grave.
|Jeff Hamman||Michael Hasenfus|
Thank you for the gravestone of CPL Michael Hasenfus. You are extremely generous with your time to do this and it is greatly appreciated, as well as performing something so meaningful.
