RE: Mill Creek Cemetery Huntingdon County PA Memorials
Susan: Do you misunderstand? I have no intent of deleting anything that belongs to someone else, I'm only trying to help people place their memorials in the proper cemetery. These memorials should be placed in the Mapleton United Brethren Cemetery. That is where the headstones are, and that is where cemetery records indicate they are. That must have been the cemetery you visited many years ago.

I have no further recommendations other than what I've already said - the memorials are in the Mapleton UB Church cemetery, you have them in the Mapleton Cemetery, wherever that is. The UB Church cemetry has a large memorial that is distinct to the cemetery itself, and a picture of it is on the cemetery page. Perhaps you would remember it.

Anyway, what do you think we should do? I'll help in any way I can.

RE: Mill Creek Cemetery Huntingdon County PA Memorials
Susan: I had forgotten about the Mill Creek Cemetery request. That cemetery is a good one, only some memorials need moved. The one I sent yesterday was the Mapleton Cemetery in Huntingdon County which I'm going to request be deleted. The only way I have made such changes is to go to the memorial, make a note of the information, up in the right hand corner, click on the delete button. Then enter the information at the correct cemetery. I don't do a lot of input - mostly pictures, and spend time trying to help people with additional memorial info, picture requests, etc, trying to clean up wrong cemetery information. Anyway, that is one way of getting the memorial to the right place.
Perhaps Find A Grave would transfer them to the correct cemetery if they had that information when I request the cemetery deletion. We could try it that way also. Please let me know which way you would like to do it. Ron

Kauffman Memorials, Mapleton
The Kauffman memorials you have posted at Mapleton Cemetery Huntingdon Co, PA, should be transferred to the Mapleton United Brethren Cemetery, Huntingdon County. I visited there a couple of weeks ago and took pictures of the same three memorials. As you can see, all memorials have been removed from Mapleton Cemetery except for yours and one other. I'm hoping for a reply on that one soon, and the owner was advised where that memorial should be placed.

In essence, there is not a generic "Mapleton Cemetery" in Mapleton - they all have specific names. I'll be asking Find A Grave to delete Mapleton from the Huntingdon County list very shortly.

Nancy Thompson
Just wanted to let you know that a cemetery named Mapleton, Huntingdon Co, Mt. Union, PA does not exist. I have lived in Huntingdon Co for over 20 years and, since I have been involved with my own genealogy, I am quite familiar with the cemeteries in Huntingdon County, PA. There are 3 cemeteries in Mapleton: Mapleton I.O.O.F Cemetery, Mapleton United Brethren Church Cemetery, and one other one, at which time, the name escapes my memory. But, I plan on going back east in the September timeframe and will be less than 5 miles from all these cemeteries. I would like to find out for sure, to honor the deceased, exactly which cemetery they are laid to rest. We owe our relatives that much. I am sure you entered this without knowing that Mapleton was not an existing cemetery. You entered 6 deceased Kauffmans: Daniel, Hannah, Harry, Lucy, Maggie,
and Samuel. My suggestion to you is this: Either let them in Mapleton until I find out exactly the correct cemetery or transfer ownership to me and I will correct the memorial once I found out the correct cemetery. Please let me know what you would like me to do to help out in this situation. Are you from the
Huntingdon area?

RE: Mill Creek
Hello, Susan.

I really don't know mucn at all about the Thompson failies in the area. I will put this on my short list of things to check out. I believe we have some information at the local historical society, but as I recall it was rather sketchy back around the timeframe we would be speaking of. Will let you know.

Mill Creek Cemetery Huntingdon County PA Memorials
Hello, Susan:

A couple of months ago I advised that some memorials you have at the Mill Creek Cemetery in Huntingdon County PA should actually be in Mountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek. The names as I recall were David Corbett and David and William Thompson, perhaps others. Since I've had no response, I'm wondering if perhaps you could advise if I was wrong.
