Bio Photo My interest in genealogy began about seven years ago when I was exploring my father's side of the family. Many of my searches would never have come to fruition if not for the kindness of total strangers at this wonderful website. There's a funny sort of bond between those of us looking for our ancestors, and I love being part of it. I'm just now beginning to take photo inventory of a small church graveyard near my home, and hope this will lead to bigger endeavors in which I can pay forward the help I have received at Find-A-Grave.

RE: Steel Photo requests Rock Creek Cemetery
Glad to help out.

There are plenty of Steeles in the interment database. Hope you are able to find more relations!

Happy Hunting!

Steel Photo requests Rock Creek Cemetery
Unfortunately, the only marker on the lot was for Grace Steele. I uploaded the lot photo.

According to RC's database:

A.H. Steele is interred there too:

A. H. Steele Date of interment: 12/29/1891
Section C, Lot 095, Site 4.

I uploaded the pic to that request too - even though the dates don't match exactly.

The interment database does contain numerous misspellings, errors and omissions so I am attributing discrepency to the database.

Sorry there were no stones - always disappointing!

Be well!

I'm so glad you let me know he is on his way to relatives. A friend posted the message on Facebook but I know you never know how old the message is and so I looked to see if he was on Findagrave and that's where I saw your name. You made my day.

I see that you added flowers to his FB page. By any chance are you related to him? A friend of mine on facebook found his cremated remains and is trying to find family to return them to him.

Marshall Steele
I'm sorry, there was no stone for Marshall Steele. However, I checked in the burial log for the West Laurel Hill cemetery. The Marshall Steele that was buried in Philadelphia section, plot 593 died on May 8, 1913.

I hope that helps in your search.

RE: Fantastic!!
Hello Jamie ,
I am glad you found your family and I am glad I was able to help in some small way. Walking cemeteries and taking photographs and creating memorials helps to preserve our family's history for ours and future generations. Good luck on your searches and God bless.

RE: Thank you!
I'm glad I could help. I have done alot of work in Green Hill, including documenting the location of each headstone in there, as well as created a new map and a large wooden sign as you enter the graveyard for all to see and identify the location of everyone they are looking for.
Clifford Bailey, unfortunately, is one of about 3 people in there with just a name plate and never got a stone. Considering he died in 1963, his name plate is in great shape.

If I can help in any other way, I will be glad to do so.

RE: Thank you so very much
You are so welcome. I would do it a million more times to help out. I've also benefited genealogically and on a personal level from the kindness of strangers on this site and it's gratifying to be able to give back in the same way. Take care.
