|SLW||Samuel Wilkins & Elizabeth Harley (Nicholson, PA)|
You left this comment on the Find-A-Grave website page for Christina Elizabeth Stephens Stoneback (1832 - 1879):
"Ebenezer yes, but her mother was Margaret Monahan. The Ebenezer and Elizabeth Hartly Stevens are known about...that Eben died in 1831 and Elizabeth "Betsey" Hartley married 2nd Samuel Wilkins. This has been documented via Bible records out of Nicholson PA. This Ebenezer may be a son of another Ebenezer, a cousin of the Steven's clan in Nicholson PA.

Could you tell me about the bible records from Nicholson that document the marriage of Samuel Wilkins and Betsey Hartley? Samuel is my 3rd great grandfather and I'm looking for more information about him.

I have been working on the WHALEYs for a long time now and have hit the same brick wall. I know Damon Whaley born about 1800 was in Oneida County, but I don't have proof with regard to his kinsmen. This Damon WHALEY went on to live in Canada then on to Allamakee, IA. I was hoping you had more success.

Thanks for the information on where she is buried.
I looked on find a grave in that cemetery and she and her husband are not listed on that site.
Their son is there but they are not.

Great Grandmother Bridget (Quinlan) Gleason
I noticed your note about Bridget being a sister to Anna [nee Quinlan]Gleason.
I think Bridget passed away in 1941 in Port Huron, Michigan.
Do you know what cemetery Bridget is buried in?

Sorry that we couldn't provide the information you required. As it was this marker was one of the mysteries we encountered in a photographic survey we completed this fall for Wildwood Cemetery. As you can see only the last names are listed on the marker and there are no individual stones and any funeral home temporary markers are long gone.
We ran the name Stephens on the newspaper file of the Brockway Record kept by the Brockway Historical Society and found only a James Stephens Obituary that was published in the 6/23/1899 issue. The website is copies can be ordered at
You posted a flower on the grave entry for Simon Stevens indicating that he was the son of Amasa Stevens and grandson of Thomas Stevens. I would like to know what documentation you found linking Thomas. I have seen it as both Thomas and David Buck, but the documentation has always been "word of mouth". Amasa is my husband's 3rd great grandfather. Any information you have that links Thomas to Amasa would be greatly appreciated!!

|Doug Moyer||RE: Hannah Thomas|
Sorry I did not answer your question sooner. I work rotating shift work, and with the holiday season and all I did not pay attention to my email accounts very well.
The answer is yes I am "related" in a round about sort of way. James Boyd is an ancestor of my brother's stepson's wife's father (and so on). She wanted me to research in depth into her family to prove or disprove that there is a strong Scottish ancestry in her past.
I get just a little caught up in what I am doing with this genealogy stuff and go way beyond in some of my research. Because of that I now am sitting on a family tree much larger than I ever anticipated, and has gone back farther than I could have imagined possible to go. And yet there seems to be many, many more years of research to do - so onward I go.
Thank you for your information and time

I was wondering if you may know how Hannah Thomas was related to James & Harriet Boyd. Census information for 1880 & 1900 indicates she was "his" aunt but as of today I have not found that connection. Thanks for any pointers you can provide. Doug Moyer (firstname.lastname@example.org)
