Thanks for the Info on Vergil and i am sorry for the Memorial i had on him i did not know if he had one and i remember him so much growing up in Richmond. I will delete it, I like your Blog on him and knowing more about him. How is his son Rod? My Grandfather (John H. Neal) did a lot of work for him at the shop so i was around him and the store a lot. A lot of great memories

Ruth's obituary can be found here:
Unless there is another Landrum Cemetery in Noctor, she is likely buried here.

bach/back family
Mona, I don't know if you remember me. I attended Lees College from 1972-74. I recently found a history of the Back family on the internet when I was searching form my Great Grandfather, Jasper Williams. I saw your name in the credits and I remembered you from Lees. I found my grandfather Thomas Henry Williams b. 1877 in Breathitt County and his mother Cynthia Ann Williams. Her mother was Sarah "Sally" Back. She and many of generations my ancestors are buried in Noctor, Ky. Of course, I didn't know any of this when I attended Lees. I just wanted to write, say hello and thank everybody who did the research. It is fascinating. It also appears we are related! If the information is ever updated, I could fill in much of my family history.

Thanks again. Regards Ted W.

Rev. RW Landrum
Hello Mona,

RW is my 3rd Great Grandfather. That would make us cousins. Feel free to contact me, maybe we can exchange family information.
