Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Decatur, Macon Co., IL and have lived in Illinois all my life. My father is George Johnson Wright and mother is Daisy Angeline Norman. I married Franklin Hall Allison b. 1943 in Wayne Co., MO d. 1998 in Butler Co., MO. I
remarried to Charles Allison b. 1950 Stoddard Co., MO. In 2006, Charles and I moved to Puxico, MO...who I lost in December 2010.

I have worked for the Postal Service since 1979 and as a Postmaster since 2001. I retired in 2005. In 2007, I went back to work as a Postmaster Relief at the Wappapello Post Office in Wappapello, MO. I retired again in 2010 hoping to spend more time on my hobby and passion of doing Genealogical Research.

I am researching the following names: Norman, Coleman, Brothers, Wright, Bumgardner, Allison, Fox, Nation. I am also researching the states of Illinois and Missouri (SE) for a connection between the Normans of Illinois and those of SE Missouri. I am researching for a connection between the Colemans of Illinois and those of SE Missouri. Any help would be appreciated.

JOHN W.D. FORTNER
Do you know where the face picture of, John came from? I am just trying to get more information on this picture, like who, what, where, and why.

On his daughters registration for marriage it states his name as John Will(iam). Not Wesley. I Have never come across his middle two names; "Wesley Downing." The picture that is shown here on Find A Grave, I believe that the name was added in the 1980's or early 1990's, because the last two names are jammed together. This was common with the dot matrix printers of that era. They would jam the right side of words to made them fit in the headers or footers of the page.

I still believe that his name is; John William Daniel(s) Fortner. This register shows that I am correct on the name; "William." Ida Mae Fortner should know her fathers middle name, and she should have been the one signing since the signatures are all different on this register page.

Laban Osborn Wright
Laban was my grandfather who I only met once as a child and I don't know much about my mother's family as she was raised by her Aunt. My mother is Bernesha Wright Orrel (although her birth certificate read Bernisha) and her mother was Frances Katherine Hatten Wright.

According to this website Laban was the son of Sarah Phene McMahan Wright and James Benjamin Wright from what I can gather but there is mention of Minnie Wright Inyart?

I know my mother mentioned Elizabeth Sears Wright as her grandmother many years back so I feel I'm on the correct path and was wondering if you could give me any insight?

Coleman & Melton
We have a couple of connections....your Wrights have a Jane Melton Wright....and my mother's maiden name is Coleman.

But, for now, Jane is the sister of my GG Grandfather, Nehemiah. I am looking for information regarding his grave. Do you have any additional information regarding him or his sister??

Do you have information back beyond Nathaniel Melton?

RE: Picture request
Jayne;
Certainly wished I could send a photo, but there were no stones. I made three trips, taking pictures of all neighboring stones, going home to see what their exact sites were, and just no stones. Lots of blank sites, so decided a picture of where they should be was better than nothing. Thomas is in Section L, block 143 SW5, Geneva is Section L, block 143 NW2.
Digital archives lists death dates and marriage as Nov. 9, 1945. So really did try to help you. Can't take a stone photo when there is none. Sorry.
