HI Shirley, I'm also descended from John Ambrose. He was my great grandfather.
|James & Cheryl Graham||#9553477 John Edward Perlis Simpkins|
I am working with a member of the Simpkins family and the caretaker of the Simpkins Cemetery, and I have some additional information for John E. P. Simpkins. He was born in Wake County North Carolina.
He enlisted in the Confederate States Army as a private in Quitman, Tx. on 04 March 1862 at the age of 35 years old for a period of 12 months.
He mustered in the 22nd. Texas Infantry (Hubbard's Texas Inf.) Co. "E".
If you would like to add this information to his bio I'm sure it would help some researchers in the future.
Thanks in advance

I would rather not transfer the Poe family. I do work for my grandson and this is a line for him. Carol Poe Harrison Blazek is his other grandmother. If you have info to add - please send and I will add for you. Also very strange - we are kin to the Simpkins in Simpkins Cemetery in Wood County, Freeman also. Are we cousins?

Shirley, I don't know what name you are talking about or the cemetery. Maybe I could help if I knew that information. Myrna
|James Ellis||RE: Dixson|
I have no idea if I am related to them.

I was wondering how you viewed transferring memorials. Ellen Sweeden Simpkins Moon is my husband's GGG Grandmother. I have information to add!
Memorial # is: 9553542.
I see, from your memorials, Simpkins is a big name for you, as Freeman is. Our line is the Sweeden line, as John's grandmother was Nan Sweeden Thornhill, daughter of Leroy Sweeden, son of Leroy Sweeden and Ellen Simpkins Sweeden (Moon).
Please let me know.
THANK YOU! j*
