Cecil Howard Trussell was a native of Choctaw Co. MS. He was a graduate of Ackerman High School, Holmes Junior College and Delta State University. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. As an educator, he served as principal of several elementary and high schools before settling at Fulwiler Elementary School. He was an active leader in the Boy Scouts and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Cecil was the son of Stanley and Verse Daves Trussell. Cecil and his wife, Edith McBride Trussell, had two sons, Gregory and Daniel Trussell.
