Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've walked many graveyards, seeing stones in bad shape, and wondered what would happen to them as time marched on. This site is a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica by photograph for the future.

If related and can enhance memorial by adding additional information, please request transfer, stating your relationship. No transfers for collection of a particular family name. If you request transfer, be sure you are committed to a lifetime of maintaining the memorial. Sadly, a few of my older transfers are maintained by contributors who no longer respond.

When sending information to add, include verifiable source. Edits will be verified before being accepted. With quick edits, this is still important so unless evident on memorial, please use the other suggestion and include source. Online trees, such as ancestry's, and family reports/books are not valid sources unless sources are noted.

I no longer add dates of birth calculated from age at death unless a photo of the stone is legible. (I got caught on a couple bad transcriptions which threw off the calculated birthdate).

Links will not be made to memorial in unknown cemeteries.

If you have taken better gravestone photos that what I've posted, please post yours and send a message.

I may try to contact contributors if I question an edit. For those who hide themselves completely by not showing email or allowing comments, my only choice is to decline and hope they resubmit with additional information.

Let me know if you have any questions on my listings - I love a good genealogy search and will try to help if possible!

Happy graving to all!

RE: Susannah Bretz edit
Thank you for catching! Deleted request, entered incorrectly, not Susannah Ritter and Daniel Bretz's child, their daughter born 1828. Infant Susanna # 127184293, (born 1838), I believe is the daughter of Abraham (sibling of Susannah Ritter Bretz), will research more and let you know.

I was having slowness issues but thought it was because I was on McDonalds wi-fi. Thanks for letting me know. I'll delete the dup.

RE: Catharine Snider #112133127
The Mount Vernon UB Cemetery is a very small cemetery in Perry Co., Pa. (137 recorded internments) I visited this cemetery last year and found Catherine (or Cassiana or Casiany - name varies with different census years) was buried near her parents, Elias and Susanna Arney. Also, her twin sister, is buried there, Susan Ellen Arney Gutshall. Susan and Catherine were born on Nov 8, 1858 with Susan dying on Feb. 3, 1897 and Catherine on April 6, 1897. Elias died on Aug. 18, 1899, thus the proximity of the graves.
Catherine married John William Snyder (or Snider) in 1879 and is shown on the 1880 census as being his wife (and one child) In the 1900 census, John William Snyder is shown as being a widow with several additional children, one of which was my grandmother, Edna Emma Snyder, who was eight years old when her mother died.

RE: wise
Probably a nick name or middle name that she went by. I have seen that before especially with my husband's Italian family, they never went by their given names. :) Jessica

Hey there,
Thanks for the edit. It looks to be the same person. I have some Wise on my tree, but not them as yet. I added the death date.
Happy New Year! Jessica

RE: Sadie Manning
A great amount of my Wise material came from "Genealogical Record of the Shearer and Wise Family Relationship" written by Charles Raymond Shearer,(238 West 106th St, NYC) and published by cousin Brainard Hayes Shearer, Columbus Junction, Iowa. printed 31 May 1939. I have a copy of this genealogy which has been passed down in our family and there is also a copy in the library of the Franklin County, PA, Historical Society - Kittochtinny, in Chambersburg, PA. I have found at least one primary proof for each generation before I enter them into my tree. Everything in the book has checked out except for the oldest generation where he 'hooks' the Franklin county Lutherans to the Lancaster county Mennonites instead of the Berks County Lutherans. If you send me your email address, I can send an ancestor chart fo Sarah Catherine Wise Manning, or an invitation to view my tree on ancestry. It is better to look at what I have in an email because ancestry shows very little of my documentation. My email is
