My name is Will, and I got on here somehow a few years ago, and after losing a sister and a dad, within 11 months of each other I visit alot, I am 33 and looking to find out more about my family history. Gravesites I visit on here and in person are Waits(Wates)Cemetery(I am not the one who misspelled the name,I am as confused as everyone else-2 signs there in the last 16 years and one said Waites, the new one says Wates),in Waterloo, Al. Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Union Co, Ms, Tuscumbia Cemetery in Alcorn co. Holly Cemetery, in Corinth Ms, Patrick Methodist Cemetery, in Iuka Ms. I am in these at least once a year if you need help there with a photo or info, I will try and get it. Searching for info on family members, Tranquilla Darling Jones, Peninah Coley Darling and Violet and Elizabeth Starnes, any stories or comments are welcome.|

My last name Jones and I'm tracing my family history. All I know is that my grandfather Eddie Boyd Jones came from Tippah county Mississippi and ended up in Cotton Lake Bottom, Tipton county Tennessee. It's a possibility we might be kin somehow.

Thank you so much for posting a photo of Ruby's gravestone. I wanted to provide you with a correction regarding William Blakesley. I am William Blakesley's great-granddaughter and you have him listed as being a WWII vet. You are confusing him with William Blakesley, Jr. Ruby's husband, William, was never in the armed forces. His son, William Blakesley Jr, served in WWII. Also, the picture you have of Ruby and William on their wedding day is incorrect. That is not a picture of William Blakesley. I am not sure who the man in the picture is. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like any further information regarding William.

I've just started tracing my family and I've arrived at Dr. William Highland. I visited Wates cemetery today and located his grave. I noticed you've posted a picture dated 1996 at that location. I'd be very interested to compare notes. Please message me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.

Hello, I recently learned that John R. Haynes is my great grandfather. He had a brother, W.H. Haynes, and John's father was William Henry Haynes. John also had a son, James E. Owen Haynes (my grandfather). Do I have the right family? I would love to learn more about these ancestors, as I have looked for over 10 years! email me please @ email@example.com!

I have found on 1860 Carroll Co., MS census BRC (Barney R) and O.F. Darling Barney born 1837 AL and OF born 1838 AL i believe they were Ephriam and Penny's sons also. Barney joined the Carroll County Rifles and never returned from the war. He married Elizabeth Jones in 1859 in Carroll Co., MS and had 1 child James B Darling .

I created memorials for many people in cemeteries for Marshall County, MS. They were created from a cemetery transcription. Most of the info has been correct, though sometimes as people have gathered photos a date may need to be added or corrected. I looked on Ancestry to see if I could pinpoint this family. In 1870 there was a young Henry Starnes w/the correct year of birth in Lafayette, MS & appears there as Wilson Henry in 1900 also with a wife S J Starnes & several children a couple w/the last name of Spence & a couple w/the last name of Starnes. A Sarah J Anderson married a W C Spence in 1873 in Lafayette & the 1900 census says the marriage w/Starnes was in 1888, so possibly children from first marriage. I then did a search for him in Marshall Cty & it brought up a family tree where it has Wilson Henry Starnes who married Sarah J Anderson with the same dates. You might check out Ancestry to go back further & see if they are related. Let me know if I can do anything else to help.
