1Lt James G. Murchison Jr
1Lt James G. Murchison Jr was pilot of a C-47 tail number 41-19483 [60th Troop Carrier Group] and participated in "operation Fustion". The mission was dropping British paratroopers during the night of 13-14 July 1943 on a dropzone south of Catania, Sicily. The plane was shot down by enemy anti-aircraft fire.
Lt Murchison was killed and buried in the temporary American GELA Cemetery in Sicily, Lieutenant Murchison was buried in grave I-94-1118. After the war he was reburied in the Bunkie Pythian Cemetery, Punkie, Louisian

I am writing a book about the GELA Cemetery, where over 1,200 men and women were buried between July 1943 and April 1947. Hope to finish my book this year, 2015

You took a picture of his grave, can I have your permission to use the picture for my book project, of course you will be credited and notified when it is finished

thank you

Could you please transfer ownership of memorial pages 7946407 for Sallie Fisher Mantiply and 7946427 for Thad Mantiply to user name Trnsportr (47639529). These are my great grand uncle and his wife, and I would like to add family links and biographical information. Otherwise, would you be willing to add links if I provide them to you? Thanks

Lt James Murchison
greetings from Nijmegen in Holland.
Was checking the site www.findagrave.com for information for the following named soldier. On the site I found a picture of his grave and you took that picture.

His name is Lt James Murchison and is buried in the Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie, Louisina

After his death he was buried in the temporary GELA cemetery in Sicily. I am doing research about that invasion of July 1943 and want to write a book about this cemetery.

I would like to use the picture you took of his grave, of course you will be credited.

Do you perhaps know the location and/or circumstances where he was killed, if you family of him, do you perhaps have his picture from the time before he was killed, or his grave at Gela.

Douglas M. Ducote Sr. & Shannon (Haub) Ducote
1st Lt. Nolan P. Ducote
Hello,

While researching information about my great uncle, Nolan Pierre Ducote, I came across information you had submitted to Find a Grave web site (a photo of my great uncle's grave stone). Would you please help me with any information you might have about Nolan P. Ducote? Bellow is what I have been able to gather to date:

1st Lt. Nolan P. Ducote
Service number 1056078
15th Air force, 757th Bomb Squadron, 459th Bomb Group
Navigator on a B-24 Bomber WW2
Stationed at Giulia Field (Cerignola, Italy)
Died April 28th 1945 (aircraft crashed into side of mountain while heading to an R&R trip)

Served in the US Army from 8/31/36 to 5/19/43 (Enlisted man)
Served in the Army Air Corp from 5/20/43 to date of death (28th April 1945) (Officer)

Nolan was born in Marksville, Louisiana, on the 24th of may 1919

His father: Willie Ducote (My Great Grandfather)
His mother: Christina "Laborde" Ducote (My Great Grandmother)
His wife: Maxine "McGuire" Ducote (Resident of California)

I have been unable to find any information about a crashed aircraft, of any type, in Italy on April 28th 1945.
I have searched all known Department of Defence records.

Thank you for anything you might be able to share with me,

Staff Sergeant Douglas M. Ducote Sr.
