Bio Photo Finding the graves of ancestors can be an overwhelming challenge. What started out years ago as an innocent quest to find the graves of my grandparents has become my passion. Vacations often end up with side trips to libraries or cemeteries, camera in hand, documenting the final resting place of my ancestors and special people. It is my contribution to others who share the special connection to those who are gone, but not forgotten.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Jane Spooer Cole Cudworth not Jane Spooer Cole Beals
I propose the stones in Warrentown are incorrectly interpreted on Find a Grave. The intention is listed of Solomon Franklin Beals to Jane C Bryant. Jane C Bryant is recorded in Middleboro Jan 23 1848 but I have not found a marriage for Solomon Franklin Beals to Jane C Bryant. He married Abigail M Stevens in 1852. They are found in the 1870 and 1880 Federal

Jane Spooner Cole was born on July 7, 1833, in Middleborough, Massachusetts, her father, Samuel, was 39, and her mother, Mary, was 40. She married Joseph S. Cudworth on April 17, 1853, in her hometown. She died on July 20, 1866, in Lakeville, Massachusetts, at the age of 33, and was buried in Morton Cemetery Freetown, Massachusetts. She died of childbirth complications flooding, excessive menstrual bleeding.* from Lakeville Deaths for 1866:

Jane Spooner Cole Justification

Husband of Jane Spooner Cole - Joseph S. Cudworth was born in 1832 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, his father, Elisha, was 29 and his mother, Chloe (Cole) Cudworth, was 34. Joseph S. married Jane Spooner Cole on April 17, 1853, in Middleborough, Massachusetts. He died in 1903 at the age of 71, was buried in Morton Cemetery, also, Freetown, Massachusetts.
Joseph S Cudworth Morton Cemetery Freetown

Father and mother of Jane Spooner Cole - Samuel Cole was born on October 8, 1793, in Middleborough, Massachusetts, the son of Chloe and Joseph. Samuel married Mary "Polly" Caswell on April 11, 1818, in his hometown. They had seven children in 13 years. He died on January 1, 1872, having lived a long life of 78 years, and was buried in Lakeville, Massachusetts.

Mother and father of Joseph S. Cudworth - Chloe
(Cole) was born on August 14, 1798, in Middleborough, Massachusetts, the daughter of Chloe and Joseph. She married Elisha Gregory Cudworth on August 16, 1823, in her hometown. They had one child, Joseph, during their marriage. Chloe died on November 17, 1875, in Lakeville, Massachusetts, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in Freetown, Massachusetts.

Middleborough Library marriages lists marriage date:
Cole, Jane, S to Cudworth, Joseph, S - 04/17/1853

Florentina Senac Moreno
Hello. I am hoping you could provide more information on Florentina's burial. Your information says that she was buried in Tampa in 1800. As far as I can tell, her children and husband were in Pensacola during this time period. Tampa was not a city until the 1840's. Thank you for any information you can provide!

Your FAG Memorial# 28121073 for Pauline Andrews Hines Culpepper
I do appreciate your work on the above mentioned Find A Grave memorial (Your Find A Grave Memorial# 28121073 for Pauline Andrews Hines Culpepper). I have made an edit in the spelling of her married name by removing one of "p" in Culpepper so that her name reflects the actual spelling of her husband's name, Albert Sydney Culpeper, son of Captain James Furman Culpeper, M.D., who is buried at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville, South Carolina. His Find A Grave Memorial# is 26451161.

I do hope that my making this correction does not upset you; however if it does, please let me know. I remain,

Respectfully yours,

Howard Culpeper Carter, Jr. "Kip"

I see on ID 73475576 that this is your 8th great grandfather. I'm pretty sure this is my 6th great grandfather. I was wondering if by chance you have the names of his children through Elizabeth Newton?
Just curious for more genealogy. My email address is kolesien@gmail.com. Thanks.

Would you please remove memorial 178991449 that was created. You did not have him in the correct cemetery - in fact it says unknown, and I did not realize, as a member of the immediate family, that any memorial had even been created until I went to link it with other members of the family.
