Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am facinated with genealogy and have been for several years. I love this Find A Grave site and it is especially helpful to see a picture of the grave site. They usually get the spelling and dates correct.

Thanks to all of you that volunteer to put on pictures. After I get my family pictures on I might volunteer too.

Yes Ma'am, I have been out there a few times. There is another smaller cemetery right beside it as well. I have four days off work starting this coming Friday, so if you would maybe send me a reminder at my email address listed here on my profile, I will do my best to go there and try to get a photo for you.

Yes Ma'am, Spring Hill, Fort Hill and Presbyterian are the other three large cemeteries here. There are other small ones in town and in the outlying areas.

Hi Tina, I spend a lot of time out at Old City Cemetery here in Lynchburg where you have your GGgrandfather listed as being interred. Unfortunately, I cannot find him in the burial records with Old City or Diuguid funeral home who performed almost all of the burials at Old City til the early 1920s. You may want to call the office there during normal business hours to discuss with them.

Lorenzo Sibert "Jimmy" Cease
Hi Tina,

I was wondering if you had any information about Jimmy Cease. You put his memorial and photo on Find a Grave. He is my 1st cousin 1x removed. My grandma, Lucy Cease Miller, would have been his aunt, and the family resemblance is amazing! Are you related to him? I found out that he had a son with the same name from Hobbs, New Mexico and I am trying to track him down also. Any information would be welcome on this family. I am a member of Find a grave and

Thank you,

Hi, Tina.

Recently, I found a Lucinda K. Barry Akans, who died in 1867 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She married a William Akans. I saw that there was a William Akans who was your ancestor. Do you know if he was married more than once, and maybe this was his first wife? I do not think that they had any children, as this Lucy Akans died 11 months after they were married. I was just curious if you knew or not because I was going to try to add the links, if this was his first wife. Thanks.

I spoke to someone at Forest Park Westheimer cemetery awhile back and they said that if a family member wants a photo of a headstone, to use the contact form on this page and that they will take a photo for them. I would also ask for a "Funeral Worksheet". Much of the information that is on a Death Certificate is included on the worksheet, and possibly a copy of the obituary.

They said to explain your relationship to the person, and they'd fulfil it. I wouldn't go into too great a detail if the relationship is a little distant - ie cousin on mother's side - that sort of thing.

Did you want me to transfer the memorial to you?

Anyway, hope that this helps,

Janet Tabares

Not that I remember. If this is a relative of yours I'll be glad to transfer the memorial to you. I took this one because it was close to a headstone that I was photographing by request, and thought that I'd save someone the trouble of having to ask. I did a number of graves that day in addition to the one I went to photograph.
