I have been a member since 2001. Adding Memorials is a hobby. Walking through cemeteries is also a hobby; seeing old graves and any comments on headstones often times are very interesting.

I generally add, but not limited to, Memorials from Dallas, Henderson, Hunt, Kaufman and Van Zandt Counties, Texas, and Benton, Carroll, Henry, Madison and Stewart Counties, Tennessee.

Please do NOT copy my photos found on my Memorials and then post to your Memorials.

If I added your family member and you want Management, I will review and consider the transfer. Please do not ask if you are not directly related. Also, I previously had a similar message like the one below on my Profile and thought it was a good idea to bring it back:

While I very much enjoy adding Memorials, I am not running a race to become a "Top Contributor." If at some point I become a Top Contributor, great. But, it is not my goal in life. There are far more important things in life to be concerned about. Some of the messages I have read on other Contributor's Profiles were vicious and uncalled for. I am fortunate and have only received one or two spiteful messages to which I decided to ignore. Please know, before creating a record, I perform a thorough search as much as possible of the records to avoid duplicates. It is easy to overlook a record and create a duplicate from time to time. In the past, I have received several requests to delete my record because it was a duplicate of their record created before mine. I have learned this is not always the case.

I am a member of a small Church of Christ congregation in east Texas.

God bless.

RE: Lucy Ann Jones
Hey Janice....just now checked on Lucy Ann Jones.....since I've not been a member on Ancestry since all their updating....it's hard to find things as easily as I was use to. BUT, I was able to find where it told me....my connection to Lucy Ann Jones was......wife of 1st cousin 4x removed. So no actual blood relation there. Sure wish I was familiar with all the new layouts on Ancestry....maybe one day! lol

RE: Bonita Ellis
Hi JAC,
I've actually come across a few members such as those you mention. I even had one that insisted i remove my photo from one of the memorials she had created. I thought very weird, but i honored her wish and removed the tombstone photo. I can only guess she wanted to save the space for her own personal photos. Whatever. I "steamed" about it for a while, then chuckled it off.

Anyhow, I'm certainly not doing this task to add to a photo count OR for a memorial-creating count. I do this to help others with their genealogy, who like me in a lot of cases, can't visit the grave of their loved one/ancestor as it might be out of state, or too far to travel. That, plus, I like photography...and walking too.

Thanks much for the compliment. It helps when we contributors can work together. :)
Have a GREAT week!!

The family of Charlie Owen
Jan, I was looking at the Find-A-Grave records that you manage in New Valley Cemetery, Weakley County, Tennessee. All of the children of Charlie Emerson Owen are now deceased. The last one to die was Marvin Doyle Owen. His picture and obituary are now readily obtained by just typing his name in a search window. He died on 6 August 2016 in Ohio. Also Mary Lavell Coburn "Pete" Owen who was the wife of Rev. Raymond Harold Owen died in Oklahoma in 2015. They are buried together. I think they can all be connected in Find-A-Grave.
