Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born and raised in Troy NY (the home of Uncle Sam), I've always been interested in cemeteries, having grown up practically next door to one of New York State's largest cemeteries - historic Oakwood Cemetery.

There's something about cemeteries that fascinates me. I guess it's just the history...........all those faceless people, asleep forever, with no one left to remember them and nothing to remember them by, save a stone with a name carved in it. It's just so be forgotten.

I'm also interested in genealogy, and once I started working on my family tree, I decided to try to find the final resting places of all my ancestors and enter their names at Find A Grave so that, in some way, they will live on even after their gravestones have crumbled.

I've only put a few of my immediate family on here for now, but eventually I hope to do a lot more.

Thanks for reading this, and please, if you have a moment, won't you leave a flower on the virtual grave of someone who hasn't any? Remember those who don't have anyone left to remember them............someday it will be you.

“There are three deaths. The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is when the body is consigned to the grave. The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time.” ― David Eagleman, Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives

Lisa - I just joined Find A Grave and I am amazed that you have added most of my family graves from Elmwood Cemetary to Find A Grave (Troy, NY - Elmwood Cemetary).

Are you related to the Wagar family at all?

Helen Francis Curtis
Hi. I'm trying to find the source to the information about Helen's first husband, Joshua Biles. It says he died in November 1872. What is the source? Do you know where he died? He is my ancestor, and I've been looking for him for a long time.

Hi Lisa,
Looking at your information on your Find a grave.. Maybe we can get together sometime and work together.. I am from Averill Park and not very far from Troy..
I would love to try and find different gravesites with you.. I go to most cemeteries in the Tri Cities area.. Mostly in the suburbs.
