Carolyn J. Aldridge, retired and spending my time as I please. I apologize if the photos are not the clearest, I travel equipped only with my cell phone.|
This is my hobby and I hope you find my efforts helpful.
I have a dear friend who shares my obsession and to whom is owed credit for many of the photos. She is Betty Taylor and the best of these photos were her work. What a great pastime!

Thank you anyways!
|Billy M. Brown||Jordy Pitre|
I researched this more. While I appreciate your comment, I am basing the original listing of the cemetery based upon the following
PITRE was killed on 15 May 1969. Robert Sage, a Vietnam Researcher got his cemetery name information from the DD1330 Application for Gravemarker signed by wife Ida M. PITRE on 09 June 1969, almost a month after PITRE's death. One presumes she knew the name of the cemetery where she buried her husband.
According to Google maps, the cemetery is located behind the Sacred Heart Church, Cut Off, LA. That does not necessarily mean the cemetery itself is named "Sacred Heart Cemetery". The Find A Grave cemetery page notes "Cross donated in memory of Lange Callaghan".
Oddly, if you Google the phrase
+"LANGE CALLAHAN CEMETERY" + louisiana you'll find a link labelled
Lange Callahan Cemetery, Cut-off, Louisiana, 8 October 1988 ...
That link leads to a museum in Aukland, New Zealand, which owns a
1988 black-and-white photo by a guy named Laurence Aberhart. It is entitled
"Lange Callahan Cemetery, Cut-off, Louisiana, 8 October 1988"
If you really want to know you could call George Cooke, Director of Cemeteries for the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, and ask him what the cemetery's real name is ... telephone (985) 868-7720.
Anyway - it seems to be the same place, so I've annotated the GraveApp with
Cemetery apparently now known as
Sacred Heart Cemetery
Cut Off, LA
and changed place of burial to read
SACRED HEART CEMETERY, CUT OFF, LA
