Lorraine, I have a picture of the original gravestone for this Bailey, I'd very much like to upload to the memorial, if there were room.

It has the same death date as the stone the Daughters of the American Revolution placed there along with the age inscribed of "92yrs 9mos 22dys" making June 25th, 1959 the correct birthdate as well ~ which of course, doesn't match the SAR plaques despite all the hoopla that went with them.

They really should be removed. There is no record of a Bailey b. 1761 ever being in Green County, Wisconsin.

Short of doing that, I think that if you clicked "no cemetery picture for this memorial" there might be room for the actual stone.

And if you would please, take "Givens" out of the name. It wasn't there back when I sent edits to link children. There is no evidence for it here nor in the DAR records available.

The 1850 Census of Adams township, Green County, Wisconsin, lists a James R. Bailey aged 90 born Maryland! living with his son, James H.[Hamilton] Bailey & family which includes their daughter "Enderilla" {Endamile] F3 b. Wis.

The elder James R. {Robert?] being the only Bailey in town likely to have died and been buried there in 1852 at age 92...

RE: Bailey's and Muhlenburg
I am wondering if they might be siblings, I will have to look into it. if you look under my Bailey virtual cemetery, It will give you a list of the Bailey's i have researched. there aren't too many. I am related to them through my great great grandmother Mary Elizabeth Bailey Pletcher.

Herman Muhlenburg
Hi,
I noticed that you requested a photo for Herman in Johnsburg cemetery, I am a great great great grandson of Amelia Muhlenbburg Hittie, who is also buried in Johnsburg, I was wondering if they might be related. I am also related to some Bailey's in the Somerset Co. PA area, I wonder if our lines cross.
Thanks,
Daniel Pletcher

All the Baileys
Did you know there is a display at the Franklin County Historical Society in Hampton, IA for both Jack Bailey - Queen for a Day- and Alonzo Bailey? Alonzo was my 2x grandfather. He was a tailor in Hampton. Jack's parents lived in Hampton. Jack was born there. Somewhere, at the beginning of my genealogy life I thought I knew the connection between Jack's parents and Alonzo. Then I thought I was wrong and removed it. Now I think I was right and I can't find the connection again. What ever it was, I bet I saw it at the historical society. I need to go back and look at everything in that folder again.

Uriah Givens Bailey...all fixed...
just a matter of "logging in again" so the editing features appear. Brilliant, Lorraine. I'll have that tattooed on my wrist along with "shut down and unplug for ten minutes before mutzing around with anything not working on the TV and/or computer."

Thank you for hanging in there and getting it all straightened out.

William S. Bailey
Do you have a William Scott Bailey in any of your research? William Scott Bailey b. abt 1800. He married Laura Ann McCauley. He died in 1834 and she married Spencer Holycross. Bailey ancestors are frustrating me beyond all reason. I don't cry any more but I still pound my desk. There seems to be an abundance of Robert Baileys "out there" and the trees on ancestry seem to use them interchangeably. One tree has Robert Givens and Robert S. Bailey as the same person. They're both married to Elizabeth but different last names. Sooner or later I will find someone who has this mystery solved!

RE: Uriah Givens Bailey
There's a click on thingie on the right hand top side of each memorial page that you manage and only you can edit ~ which says Transfer or something ~ you click on that and put in my Contributor # which is uhmm #47925038

click submit

It will ask you to verify my name after you put the number in and if Cynthia Claytonroberts pops up click Yes.

When I get done putting the stuff in and transfer it back to you your name will be back on it and mine will disappear.

Birthdate and Place for Robert G Bailey
Just curious as to which birthdate and place is the true one for Robert Givens Bailey, as you have posted one thing and the monument attached to his information states something else. Which is true?
Thank you,
