Bio

My parent's recent ancestors mainly settled in Indiana as they pioneered and converged from many different locations on the east coast. I am a Hoosier at heart. My mother was born and raised in New York City but moved to Indiana where her mother's family had been rooted for some time. Her father's family came directly from Denmark. My father was born and raised in Indiana. His lineage are solid Hoosiers for several generations on his mother's side and his father's line comes from Kentucky and Tennessee. Some of them also lived in Ohio. My prior ancestors came from places in Europe, like England, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Scotland, France and Prussia. Most arrived through Canada and the states of Rhode Island, New York, Virginia and North Carolina and moved south and west into Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. I was born in North Carolina and grew up in Virginia. I most likely would have been born and living in Indiana all of my life had it not been that my dad was in the military. But then again, would my mom have married him if he were anything other than a dashing young cadet? I enjoy finding my roots and especially like knowing where my ancestors are buried and meeting my distant cousins along the way.
