|Mattie Byam||RE: Quintus Vaughan -Virginia|
Thank you so much Cousin Jeff. Because of the brick wall I'm hitting for Quintus, I suspect he is the Vaughan that immigrated. My mother said it was from Ireland.
My grandfather died before I was born, my father when I was 3 and my grandmother, Mattie DeShazo, soon after. My mother very rarely mentioned them, so I really know very little about that side of the family.
Thank you so much for reaching out.
|Mattie Byam||Quintus Vaughan -Virginia|
Robert Jefferson Vaughan Sr
Birth: Jul. 28, 1866
Death: Jan. 23, 1941
King and Queen County
The son of Matilda F. Sheffield and Quintus C. Vaughan.
No matter how I try, this is as far as I can get trying to determine how my father's family got to America. Do you have any suggestions how I can look further into Quintus C Vaughan?

Is anybody rated to Robert Jefferson Vaughan and Mattie Blanche Deshazo Vaughan?
Thank you so much for the correction to her burial site. Have a great day!
|LLL-SAL||Hill Family at Forest Lawn|
FYI - I put on several photo's today for the Hill Family at Forest Lawn. They look like they may be your Family. I also put on a couple that were not listed (unless I missed them), P.L. Hill, Sr and Mildred D. Hill. If they are family, I will be happy to transfer them to you. Thanks, Larry

I don't know if they are the same. Need somebody to check what plot she is buried in. Although they died the same month and year.

Thanks, I really do get engrossed when linking the families together; 'the chase' of trying to make sure I have the correct records checked out before I do, can be v-e-r-y interesting----- especially when I run into the naming traditions that put several people in the same part of the counties with similar names; I've about lost count of how many William or Nathaniel Talley-s and Heath's there are ;-). Enjoy your Holiday. Edna

I have been going through all of my back messages on Find A Grave an ran across yours May of 2013...I must have really been ‘out of it’ that morning; because I do not even remember getting it; let alone answering your request on changing the spelling of her name....Oh Man, bummer
Anyway, just to let you know Winking smile I finally got ‘Miss KItty’ attached to her son (his middle name also shows different spellings on Everett, etc.)from her first marriage buried in the Gethsemane Cemetery; but I couldn’t stop there (my husband always has teased me that I should get a detective’s license), I also attached her to her 2nd husband (Mr Aubrey Hay Atkinson with his first wife, Alice)---tracked down what happened to her first spouse and his newer wife(Mary Fannie Croxton) and added that information also...2nd wife remarried to a man with the last named of Paul (his first name has been spelled several ways including Ducalion---someone’s mother or father liked Greek myths, I bet).
You were right about the spelling of Mr Richardson’s first name; I found that half the time it was Phillie and the other half it was Philip....One of the weird things I ran across was that ‘Miss Kitty’ told the people that filled out the Marriage License to Mr Atkinson was that she was a Widow and not Divorced from Phillie for desertion---the kicker was that she married Mr Atkinson 2 days before Phillie really did die...
!The things one finds in ones family trees!!!
Makes everyone more interesting, I just love it...
Again, sorry to take so long in getting back to you
And thanks for making an exciting chase for me yesterday;
(am just waiting for the admin people to process everything that I requested in EDIT)
Have a Good New Year
