Bio and Links
I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I love genealogy but I am new at it. My father's family has lived in Erath County since 1898 and Clairette since 1904. I recently went to a family reunion and was able to purchase a notebook that were Clairette Cemetery Records 1858-1999. I have listed them and have tried to be as accurate as I could. If you find an error please email me and let me know.

Sincerely Yours, y1951nelson@aol.com

Patrick Henry Spear
I am currently working on an old Violin and today I removed the back and found where Patrick Henry Spear worked on the violin in 1955. He also inscribed his address as being 1330 Shear Ave. Arcata, California.

The book that you purchased about the Clairette Cemetery, did it mention burial locations or merely the names and dates. I ask because Christina would have been my first cousin, unfortunately there is no marker for her and the metal plaque that might have been there is long gone. Thank you

Asa Pennington
Hi Yerva,
I see that you posted on his memorial #85318638, that you are related to him. I know that this is maintained by Vicki Petersen, but you posted that Asa's parents were Timothy & Nancy (Riggs) Pennington.

I wrote to Vicki Petersen because this page also states that Asa's parents are Asa and Mary (Tyler) Pennington.

I heard back from Vicki & this is what she said:
"I've redone the memorial to better reflect the information that I consider the most likely correct. Fred G. Mieswinkel (now deceased) was one of the best Lawrence County Genealogists and Historians I'm aware of. I fully trusted his expertise. Another trusted genealogist and researcher is Ross Cameron but it's been quite some time (years) since I've connected with him. The other information came from someone I'm not familiar with but felt the information should be included for anyone who wanted to pursue that direction. (Now moved to the bottom of the page.)"

I'm writing to see if you have any supporting documents to show that truly Timothy & Nancy are Asa's parents. I think I am a descendant of Nancy Riggs Pennington.

Memorial #88204181 (Sarah Cohorn Flemmons)
Hi Yerva,

I see you posted the information for Sarah Elizabeth (Cohorn) Flemmons for Greens Chapel Cem., Heflin, Alabama.

You note she was the daughter of Israel and Martha Cohorn. This couple was, I believe, part of my family (some of our Mecklenburg Co., NC Cochrans spelled their name Cohorn). I found Sarah's marriage on 14 Nov 1861 in Paulding Co., Georgia and found the family in the 1870 and 1880 censuses in Paulding Co., Georgia -- and the 1900 census in Cleburne Co., Alabama. But haven't turned up a specific record that states Sarah's parents. Did something (family Bible?) get passed down through the Williams family that gave Israel and Martha Cohorn's names? Thank you!

Missouri Turner
I completed your photo request for Missouri Turner. She is with her husband Rubin B; her sons Rubin G. Storey A and Harvey J. and her daughter in law Esther E. Turner. There is an existing memorial for Rubin B., so I added his photo, but there were no memorials for the others, so I created them and will transfer them to you. Double click the photos for location info.
