CHANGES: Suggest a correction, please! If I duped it, I'll delete it. If you have more info, I'll add it. If I typed something wrong, I'll fix it. I DO NOT KNOWINGLY CREATE DUPES, but I'm human and make mistakes. Although this site asks you not to send too many changes per week, please feel free to send as many as you find. I'm in it for accurate information. |
PET PEEVE: Others who input info & don't double check it making it impossible for me to match the photos I've taken. Therefore I create a correct memorial with photo & they come back & say mine's a "dupe" even though theirs was jacked up info :( UGH!!!!! If you DON'T TRY to put something in correctly, don't put ANYTHING in at all or at least have the decency to remove your botched memorial & don't ask the correct one to be removed & the photo be transferred to their corrected memorial. Accuracy is important here - NOT the amount of memorials you can input from bad information & typing skills.
TRANSFERS: If it's your relative or friend (and not my direct line :-), I'll transfer it! Just use the edit request on the memorial and include your Find A Grave member number with your request.
PHOTOS: Permission is granted for others to use photos that I have posted on www.findagrave.com for personal, non-commercial purposes. If you have a better photo than mine, let me know & I'll delete mine. Things happen & the photo I took might have looked fine at the cemetery & not so fine when I got home :) IF my reflection is in a photo, please let me know so I get it corrected. Contributions are in honor of those who walked before us. No disrespect is intended whatsoever by my submissions to this website.
I hope everyone finds the ancestors & answers they're looking for & it makes my day to think I've helped in some way!!

Dear Lorna, I really was excited to find this part of our ancestry! Thank you.
The headstone for both my GG Great Grandmother's grandchildren, A.O. and Vester Knox Travis indicate children. However the one for A.O. Travis and Dasie doesn't mention names as the one for Vester Know Travis did. However, on their headstone it indicates Mother and Father, which leads us to believe they had children.
Can you advise us how to find where the children are buried?
I am a direct descendant of the Travis/
Vance/McBroom/Odom, et al descendants.
Thank you for any help. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Gale E. Menzel
I thank-you as always.
Hope you and yours have had a Happy New Year,
and a joyious Holiday.

This person also has a record at another cemetery in Carbondale, Jackson County, Illinois. Her record number there is 54024732. She was living there in 1930 with her son Layfayette.
I am not disputing your record, as you have a photo attached, but thought you might somehow combine the two. Her husband is buried in Jackson County. She may have been moved back home to McLean. Who knows?

|Bob Nelson||Ashby's Headstone|
Benjamin Ashby's headstone (photo above) has turned up in an antique shop. Don't know where. Posted to the FB group "The American Civil War." Do you know if he got a new headstone? If you're nearby, could you post a photo of the new one. Thanks very much.
